I did a little art project with Dilly today and thought I would share how to make one with your little munchkins too. I would love to do this with Sugar, but she is still at an age where she keeps her little chubby hands in tight fists and that definitely won’t work for this project. Perhaps I could figure out a version to do with her foot though….. I will have to think about that. Anyhow, here is how to make a Santa handprint with your little one.
ornate picture frame… I got mine at a garage sale for 25 cents!
green card stock
ivory spray paint
red, tan, white, & black paint
1.) Use ivory spray paint to paint the frame.
2.) Cut out green card stock to fit inside the frame.
3.) Paint hand with white, tan, and burgundy paint as shown below.
4.) Press hand firmly in center of green card stock.
5.) After paint dries use black paint to make eyes & a mouth.
6.) I used white paint to make small dots covering the background.
7.) Place number stickers at the bottom for the year.
8.) Once everything is completely dry place inside picture frame.
Now you have a super cute Santa handprint decoration that you can set out for years to come to preserve those precious memories of Christmas’s past. I plan to set Dilly’s on our fireplace mantel this year.
