ChewBeads Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

When I had Dilly I basically quit wearing necklaces because if I did wear one she was trying to put it in her mouth or pulling on it to the point I was afraid it would break.  Neither of those are good options with a baby, so I just gave up on wearing jewelry.  The safety of my munchkin was way more important than being fashionable any day of the week.  That is why I was so excited when I stumbled upon ChewBeads.  A necklace that is specifically designed with little ones in mind?  Genius!
Lisa Greenwald got the idea for ChewBeads in 2009 shortly after the birth of her son.  She was having the same problems I was having with Dilly.  He was tugging on her necklaces and trying to put them in his mouth which made Lisa concerned the necklace would break or there would be the presence of unwanted chemicals in his mouth.  From many years of working in the fashion industry Lisa had a huge collection of necklaces and bracelets that she used for her inspiration in creating a soft, non-toxic, safe jewelry that was also chic and colorful.  And that is how ChewBeads came to be!
There are so many different colors of ChewBeads and I want them all! Hehe!  There is seriously a color available that would match any outfit you could come up with.  I received the sunshine yellow and it is so bright and vibrant.  Plus it just throws off a fun vibe.  As soon as I put it on Sugar started playing with it and chewing on it.
 Here are some awesome facts about ChewBeads:
– beads are made of 100% silicone (similar to pacifiers)
– soft on babies gums and helps with teething
– No BPA, PVC, phthalates, cadmium, or lead
– can easily be cleaned with soap and water
– break away clasp for added safety
– great sensory tool to help baby focus while nursing
– bracelets can be used as a reminder for which side you’ve last nursed
I love that when I am wearing ChewBeads Sugar has a teething toy that she can easily reach, that is safe and that will not fall on the ground.  Plus I can actually wear a necklace – how awesome is that?  My hair has gotten caught on it a couple times and tugged a bit, but nothing major and it definitely hasn’t deterred me from wearing the ChewBeads.  Plus I really like that the necklace looks like just that – a necklace.  Many times necklaces designed for babies to chew on look like teething toys and I really don’t want a “teething toy” hanging from my neck.  I want a necklace hanging around my neck, hehe!  So I want to say, “Thanks Lisa for making a fashionable functional accessory that every mom can appreciate.”
ChewBeads are currently available in the Jane Necklace and Cornelia Bracelet style.
There are new designs coming soon though and I definitely want to get a Hudson necklace too!  If you would like to purchase your very own ChewBeads jewelry be sure to visit their website or check out their list of retailers.  The Jane Necklace can be purchased for a very reasonable $29.50 and there are also necklace/bracelet gift sets available.  Or you could win your very own Jane necklace here!
