Midnight Lullaby Review & Giveaway

I was blessed this time around with a baby that goes to sleep with absolutely no problem when it’s bed time and now stays asleep through the night as well, but I remember the nights of trying to get Dilly to sleep….. oh those long nights.  Do you have a little one like Dilly?  Are you tired of singing Rock A Bye Baby?  Well if so I have a new collection of lullabies you will be happy to hear about.
Midnight Lullaby is a collection of soothing bedtime songs for babies, grown-ups, and everyone in-between.  These lullabies are written by Sade, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Wilco, Tom Waits, Donovan, Dixie Chicks, Hugh Prestwood, Josh Ritter, and of course Jane Roman Pitt.  Jane began playing the guitar at age 15 and went on to achieve a graduate degree in music history and composition.  Her most recent album is Midnight Lullaby which was co-produced by Grammy winner Mac Gayden in Nashville.  Jane began collecting lullabies in preparation for her first grandchild.  Since the beginning of time, singing lullabies has been a way to express love and comfort. The languages may vary, but the message is exactly the same: ‘I love you very much, I’m here, and now please go to sleep!”  And Jane’s lullabies do just that.  They are sure to make anyone baby to adult drift peacefully to sleep.
I absolutely love Jane’s soothing voice and the lullabies truly reach in and tug at your heart.  She puts the love a parent has for their baby into song form – truly beautiful.  These lullabies do have a country – folk music feel to them, so if that’s not your kind of music you may not love these lullabies as much as I do, but if they will lull your little one to sleep I think their worth a try!  I decided to pop the CD in while writing this blog post and I’m about to fall asleep, hehe.  Take a listen chances are you will love Jane’s lullabies as much as me.
