A Blogtastic Extravaganza: From Blessing Hands Spotlight

I love baby wearing….. or well I suppose now it would be called toddler wearing.  Sugar has recently started toddling around, but she is still very wobbly and definitely not ready to walk by herself when we are out and about.  I love the closeness that baby/toddler wearing allows.  So many adorable expressions, light touches, and giggles I would have missed had Sugar been strapped into a stroller.  Since I love baby wearing so much one would expect I have tried out just about every type of carrier available, but the truth is I hadn’t tried out a ring sling!  That is until I stumbled upon a brand new shop – From Blessing Hands.  I was very excited to receive a handmade ring sling and can’t wait to tell you all about it!

From Blessing Hands is a mother-daughter team.  Through out the review process I have been in contact with Jennifer (the daughter) who is responsible for photography, shipping, and managing the Etsy and Facebook pages.  She has awesome customer service skills and is always on top of things!  Her mother, Cindy, is the crafty one in this operation.  She makes all of the ring slings and while making them prays over them that the owner will be blessed and that the item will be a blessing in the owners life.  That is where the shop name “From Blessing Hands” came from!  When I learned this tid bit of information I was even more excited for our ring sling to arrive.

All of From Blessing Hands ring slings are made using rings from slingrings.com and have a pleated shoulder to provide ultimate comfort.  I have been asked many times if it’s comfortable to be carrying Sugar around in her sling and the answer is YES YES YES!  The sling I received is made of a very light weight breathable fabric and is awesome for these hot summer months.  In typical soft structured carriers I have when I take Sugar out there is a big sweaty spot wherever she was pressing up against me.  I don’t have that issue at all with my From Blessing Hands ring sling.  And it will hold Sugar up to 35 pounds!  That means we have a good 10 to 12 pounds to go so we will get plenty more use out of this awesome sling.  All of the seams are sewn beautifully and I get so many compliments on my sling wherever we go.  Another feature I love about ring slings is that they don’t take up much room so I can shove it down in my diaper bag and it is ready to go whenever I need it.  Here are some action shots of Sugar riding around in my From Blessing Hands ring sling…. I’m not quite sure what I am doing in the one picture, hehe, but I included it because you can see I have both hands completely free!

Another awesome thing about the ring sling is that there are so many carries you can do.  I hate been limited to only one or two carries. I will admit they are a bit tricky until you get the hang of it, but once you do I know you will love the ring sling as much as I do.  I found this awesome website you can check out that has a ton of different carries and videos to help you too.  And be sure to check out this very informative video that Jennifer has shared on how to use the ring sling as well!

And even better From Blessing Hands ring slings are affordable ranging from $35 to $55.  Do you have an older child that wants to be just like mommy?  Then you definitely have to pick up a ring sling toy for them!  You know you want one of these awesome ring slings.  Make sure to head over to the From Blessing Hands etsy shop to order yours today.  And make sure you have entered the A Blogtastic Extravaganza Bums and Beyond prize pack because Jennifer and her mom have very generously donated this amazing sling (shown below) to the giveaway!  Make sure to enter using the super simple Rafflecopter entry form below – this is the same form as the Extra Entries post – with an additional extra entry opportunity for the From Blessing Hands spotlight post.

for my daughter in law i would love to get ther the leopard print sling

  4. I used a moby wrap when Sasha was smaller, but as he got bigger I decided I wanted to be able to carry him on my back, so I got a babyhawk oh snap. I love them both! Wearing my son makes me feel so happy… having his head right there to kiss, and he loves it too. 🙂

i’ve been using a chicco carrier, but my son really likes to be held on my hip, so i think a ring sling would be awesome for us!

I’m expecting my first & have not had the chance to try out ‘baby wearing’ yet – but I know I will love it! I think that a sling/carrier that is easy to put on and take off is essential!

I’m expecting my first in december and I’ve heard such good things about baby wearing and having the baby close to the body so I’m excited to do so!!

I love having dd close to me! I know soon enough she won’t want me touching her! LOL Right now we have several c arriers that we use depending on what we are going to be doing. For longer outings we have a phil & ted Metro that dh carries her in. For shorter periods, we have a baby hawk that I wear with her on my back. For even shorter periods, we have a baby nari. I would love a sling like this so I could carry her on my hip!

I love babywearing so I can free up my hands and still have my baby close by! I currently have only used an ergo and a hotsling, but would love to try a ring sling!

  13. Emily faliLV says:

I like babywearing for so many different reasons – mainly the bonding you get from it. I also think the reason my 2 yo speaks in full sentences is bc I wore him and he participated in adult conversation so early!

  14. The Ring Sling free up your hands to do little things you wouldn’t normally be able to do with out putting the baby down. I really liked the Ring Sling Baby Carrier – Rosebuds with Matching Toy.

  15. Samantha Allen says:

I like baby wearing because with a toddler running around, it makes life easier having my new little guy nice and close next to me. I currently have a moby wrap, but have been eyeing the ring slings because it’s a lot less steps. 🙂

  16. Shakeeta W says:

I love BWing because I love the closeness it gives me with my daughter and being able to smother her with kisses whenever I wanted to 🙂 Right now, we use an Ergo for our BWing.

  17. Wendi Niccole says:

I love wearing my baby b/c it makes it easier to tote her. I have a ring sling.
