GroVia Hybrid Trial Pack Review & Giveaway

When I switched to cloth diapers I was 100% certain that something disposable would never ever touch my babies bum ever again.  I even used cloth when battling the dreaded yeast monster and just stripped my diapers at every wash for a few weeks.  It was a pain in the you know what but I did it because I was determined not to put another disposable diaper in a land fill.  Well then I learned about an awesome product that GroVia makes and lets just say I changed my mind a little bit…

Sugar and I received the GroVia Hybrid Trial Pack to try out.  It comes with a 50 count package of BioSoakers and two shells.  I chose one hook/loop mandarin shell and one snap blackberry shell so I could see what closure system I preferred better.  I tried this system out for an afternoon of hiking in the woods on Dustin’s birthday and things went great!  Well then I got the brilliant idea of ripping all of the carpet out of our living room and refinishing the hardwood floors.  Well through this process we have moved into my parents home and are crashing here.  I love my diaper sprayer and well they do not have one… before I would have went about using cloth and just dealt with dunking and swishing or going to our house in the evening to spray out all the dirty diapers, but I thought – hey why not take the GroVia Hybrid Trial Pack on a serious test drive.  And so since Saturday we have been exclusively using only these two shells and the BioSoakers  – that’s 5 days!  I have been alternating between shells and if one gets dirty I handwash it in the utility sink and hang it to dry.  So far things have been going wonderfully and I want to tell you about these awesome products.

First I want to start with the GroVia BioSoakers.  They are made out of biodegradable & compostable materials, fragrance & dye free, plastic & chlorine free, ultra thin construction with exceptional comfort and fit.  They have a super soft lining made of certified natural 100% Ingeo spun bound non woven fabric.  The core is made of sustainably harvested wood pulp fibers containing a minimal amount of sap gel.  And let me tell you this stuff is super absorbent – I was a little hesitant for over night use, but went for it anyhow and Sugar was still dry in the morning.  Yippee!! I am sure the waterproof backing (Bio-Film) helped too and it is also 100% natural and compostable.  Plus they are super easy to use – just peel the two pieces of paper off to expose the adhesive and adhere to the shell.  See how simple!

I absolutely L.O.V.E. the GroVia Shells especially because they are so versatile.  You can use them with the BioSoakers, GroVia Soaker Pads, or other absorbent diapers (I have a few WAHM dipes I want to try them out with).  Plus they are one size which means they will fit from birth (8 – 35 lbs) on – saving money makes this momma happy!  Not to mention how stinkin cute they are.  I thought I might like the snaps or hook/loop closure better, but in all honesty I like them equally.   However, I am super impressed with the hook/loop.  Many diapers I have tried that close with hook/loop don’t seem to be very secure, but this definitely holds extremely well.  I do think that you can get a snugger fit with the hook/loop which would be great for a smaller baby, but since Sugar is a chunk both closures work great for us.

Apparently when you are rockin a GroVia shell & BioSoaker sitting on a lego is comfy, hehe.  Now I wouldn’t use the BioSoakers on a regular basis, but they are awesome for situations like being stuck at your parents house while trying to finish your living room floor, hehe.  But seriously – I will definitely use them if we go on a family vacation or if I want to pack light to go out and run errands.  Check out how little space they take up!  Sugar had the mandarin shell on and I packed the blackberry shell and 5 BioSoakers for our day of hiking.

You know you want to try out the GroVia Hybrid Trial Pack – head over to the GroVia website where you can purchase one for $48.50.  Or you could enter to win one here!  Just fill out the super simple Rafflecopter form below.
