One of my favorite things to do here at Happenings of the Harper Household is to promote work at home moms! And I have an awesome work at home mom to tell you about today – she makes diapers! Yup, I know I have your attention now, hehe. Now I know you are used to me talking about pocket diapers and AIO’s, so this is going to be a whole new experience. Today I am going to talk about fitteds! But before I do that I want to tell you a little bit about the woman behind the diapers….
Jodi Reed lives in Goodyear, Arizona and has been married for 6 years. She has a daughter, Chloe, that recently turned 2 on September 11th (that was my grandpa’s birthday too) and she recently gave birth to a son, Owen, just a few weeks ago! Jodi has been using cloth diapers since Chloe was born. She thought they looked like something she could make herself and so she gave it a shot – and boy am I glad she did.
On to the diapers!

I mentioned before that Jodi makes fitted diapers. She decided to go with this style because they seemed the most economical way to go. Jodi is a recycling fanatic and so using recycled material was a must for her diapers. They are made out of three layers of recycled cotton flannel with a new two layer sewn in microfiber soaker. She uses a hook and loop closure with laundry tabs which really hold in the wash and dryer. Seriously – I was impressed because most laundry tabs just don’t do the trick and you end up with the dreaded diaper snake, but not with these – YAY! There is also a crossover tab for skinny babies, but my little chunk a munk didn’t need that. It will be nice to have when another baby joins our household….. IF that ever happens! Now let’s talk absorbancy. These diapers are super absorbent. Sugar is a super heavy wetter and these held up just as well as my other pockets and AIO’s. Now obviously since they are a fitted you need to use a cover – I have been using Thirsties covers and they work awesome with Jodi’s fitted design. I left the cover off when I took pictures though so you could see the nice snug and trim fit of Jodi’s work.
These diapers are available in small which fits from approximately newborn to 15 pounds and size medium which fits from 15 to 30 pounds. Sugar is wearing the size medium in the above pictures. Now for the best part – Jodi sells theses awesome diapers for $6. Yes you read that right, $6! Good for the environment and good for your wallet. These are perfect for cloth diapering on a budget. Purchase some covers – maybe 3 or 4 – and stock up on Jodi’s fitteds. Most covers can be wiped out between uses and air dried. I highly suggest trying out a few of Jodi’s diapers! And right now you can use the coupon code “CHLOE22″ for free domestic shipping in Jodi’s Etsy shop through November 8th 2011.
Plus Jodi has been super generous and offered a giveaway for my awesome readers. Just enter using the super simple rafflecopter form below!
