Organic toys, organic food…. and now a natural teething pain remedy!  The next sponsor I have the pleasure of introducing you to for the “Go Green Giveaway Event: Green Baby/Toddler Prize Pack” is Teething Tots.

A bit about Teething Tots: Teething Tots is a home-based, ‘mommy’ run business. My interest in providing natural teething alternatives to other parents blossomed from my own experience with a teething infant. My daughter started to show teething symptoms at the age of 3 months. I had been aware of Amber Necklaces prior to having my own child. However, it wasn’t until the topic of teething came up at a mommy & me group that I seriously considered the necklaces as an option. In an effort to ease her symptoms without resorting to over the counter pain medication, we tried a Baltic Amber Teething Necklace. Within a day, her excessive drooling had greatly diminished and there were positive changes in her sleeping patterns. I’ve been overly pleased with the results we’ve experienced with our Baltic Amber teething necklace. The idea of developing Teething Tots into a home business came from the interest I received from other like-minded individuals looking for a natural pain relief alternative for their children’s teething symptoms.  Teething Tots is dedicated to the best customer experience possible and will strive to make your experience the most positive it can be. If you have any questions or special requests, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Many times when people see Sugar wearing her amber teething necklace they automatically assume it’s just a pretty necklace.  When I tell them that it actually relieves her teething discomfort they look at me like I am from outer space.  And so I want to tell you why the necklace actually works.

What is it?  Baltic amber beads are fossils from an ancient forest which existed tens of millions of years ago.  It is not a stone, but a fossilized tree resin.
How does it work?  When worn against the skin the body’s warmth releases trace amounts of healing oils from the amber.  Baltic amber has some of the highest concentrations of succinic acid found in nature which is what makes it so special!  The lighter colors contain more succinic acid and therefore give the greatest therapeutic benefit.  Baltic amber contains analgesic properties which help take the edge off many types of discomfort – like teething for a cranky baby!

At Teething Tots you can find necklaces for mom and baby as well as coordinating sets!  Each necklace weighs between 5.5 – 8 grams, measures 11.5 – 12.5 inches long, and is made 100% natural authentic baltic amber.  The necklaces also screw together and each bead is individually knotted.  Sugar and Dilly each received an amber necklace to try out.  I chose the honey amber (top) for Sugar and the cognac with baroque (bottom) for Dilly.

So when I decided to take pictures of the girls wearing their necklaces Dilly did not want to cooperate.  Sugar on the other hand was being a silly little booger and I got some hilarious photos of her…. check it out.

So obviously these necklaces are absolutely adorable when worn, but do they work?  The answer is YES!  A million times YES!  Since having the amber teething necklaces in our home Sugar has not needed any tylenol or orajel when it comes to teething discomfort.  Prior to the necklace she needed some sort of relief almost every day.  They even helped when we were battling hand, foot, and mouth and she had sores all over her mouth and lips.  The doctor told us that she had a very severe case and it was amazing how content she was being for the severity of the sores.  And I have to say I’m not surprised because amber is awesome!  And it’s not just for babies.  Adults can wear a necklace to help ease migraines or wrap one around their wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome.  Anywhere there is pain you can use the amber and trust me you will feel relief.

Interested in purchasing an amber necklace for yourself or your little one?  Just visit the Teething Tots website where baby necklaces cost $22 each or you can get a mom/baby coordinating set for $45!  I would love to get one of those sets…..
