Made With Love: Htavos Kooky Monster Art Shop Spotlight

The Little Monster Prize Pack
Sponsor Spotlight:
Htavos Kooky Monster Art Shop

What monster prize pack would be complete without a cuddly soft monster for your little one to drag around?  Well then it’s a good thing I found an amazing artist who just happens to be a master at crafting kooky monsters that are not only cuddly, but also a bit mysterious…. just wait, you will see what I mean!

First I want to introduce you to the awesome artist… Hello!  My name is Sovath and I am a Tacoma based artist that likes to work with fabrics as well as other media for fun, kooky art. I love wearable art as well as experimenting with shapes, material and other devices that can be worn or hung. A lot of my artwork is influenced by artists such as the late Alexander McQueen, Tim Burton and Monet. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the stress of daily life. The other main inspiration for my work is people, in general – the shapes, sizes, and personalities that make us all unique and different.

So seriously, how awesome does Sovath sound?  Did you realize that the name of his shop is his first name spelled backwards?  Awesomeness.  The girls were very excited the day their pink fruity pocket monster plush arrived which is a completely original design by Sovath.  This adorable monster is made out of anti-pill fleece with a cube shaped body measuring 5″ by 5″, 12″ legs, and 11″ arms.  It’s hands are made of a different fabric – I love how the black and white print stand out against the pink fleece.  The black eyes are sewn on very securely – yes I tugged at the eyes to make sure – since I was giving this to my little ones to play with this was a concern to me, but they didn’t budge – yay!  Now for the “mysterious” part…. see that open mouth?  You can hide things in there!  Sovath recommends your cell phone, Ipod, or perhaps wallet…. but you know Dilly and Sugar had other ideas.  Their cuddly monster has been known to eat balls, matchbox cars, and the occasional zebra, hehe.

I can visualize the pocket monster sitting on a bedside table in a college dorm room with a cell phone or extra cash tucked inside, but Sugar and Dilly just prefer to drag their monster all over the place feeding him random objects.  It is a neat thought that if Sugar would grow attached to her pocket monster she could keep it through out life displayed in her room and not be the weirdo still sleeping with her childhood blankie…. my apologies if I just referred to you, hehe.  Oh and the tongue of the monster can also be pulled out if you would prefer your monster stick it’s tongue out at people instead of stashing your prized possessions!

Interested in getting your own pocket monster?  Check out Sovath’s Etsy Shop where they are available in a wide variety of colors and can be purchased for $16 plus shipping.  The grey one looks manly enough for a guy…. perfect Christmas present for that hard to shop for teen/college student!  Sovath also makes lots of other fun creations!  Here are some of my favorites…

Sovath has been super generous and offered the winner of the monster prize pack their very own pocket monster in choice of color from his Etsy shop!  This giveaway is happening now through November 13th so be sure to leave a comment below stating which color you would pick and what you or your little one would most likely hide inside it!  This counts as an extra entry on the Rafflecopter form – just click I DID THIS beside “Comment on the Htavos Spotlight” – easy peasy.
