The Little Monster Prize Pack

The weather is starting to get chillier here in Ohio, but today the sun was shining and it was just too beautiful to stay inside. And so we headed out to a local park and went hiking with the girls. The cool air was a perfect excuse for Sugar to rock her adorable monster butt pants from Orchid Lane Knits. I don’t think I have ever heard the comment “Awwww look at that babies cute butt” so many times, hehe.
First I want to start by introducing you to the woman behind Orchid Lane Knits: Hi! My name is Margo, and I love to create! Whether with needles and yarn, paper and glue, or camera and photoshop, I’m constantly dreaming up new ideas! I’m a follower of Jesus, a wife to an amazing man, and a mom to two amazing twin boys who are the light of my life. I started Orchid Lane Designs as a way to share the joy of crafting and inspiration with others. I hope to inspire you to create something of your own, whether it’s knitting or some other craft. Sometimes the easiest way to get started is to just go! I’m not the kind of person to stick my toes in to test the water ~ I just jump right off the diving board!
When I found Margo’s shop on Etsy I couldn’t get over how absolutely adorable the Gossamer Monster Butt Pants were and was thrilled when she decided to join the Monster Prize Pack! These knit longies are made from 100% Peruvian Highland Wool Yarn and are available in 12 beautiful colors. I chose blossom for Sugar because I knew they would match her monster shirt perfectly. These pants are very well made and I can only imagine the time that has gone into knitting them. It is very obvious that lots of care and love goes into Margo’s creations. I absolutely love all the detail in the waist band and cuffs – it adds that extra pop that stands out and practically yells “Check out my stylish bum!” hehe. These pants are available in size newborn through toddler… oh I can just imagine how adorable a newborn would be rockin a pair… though I must say there is nothing cuter than watching Sugar toddle away with that adorable monster face smiling back at me. Speaking of mobile babies – there is also a gusseted crotch to provide extra durability. How stinkin’ cute does Sugar look?
I love that wool pants are versatile and by that I mean they can be worn as regular pants or as cloth diaper covers. If using them for a cloth diaper cover it is recommended that you lanolize the wool which will make it water resistant. The easiest way to do this is to use Eucalan Wool Wash because it has lanolin added in – easy peasy. Also, it is not necessary to wash wool every time it is worn. Simply let them air dry if damp and wash about once a week or if they have been soiled. Now there are some important steps to take when caring for your wool items so as not to ruin them. Margo recommends to hand wash in cold water with mild soap – she even includes a sample size of “Soak – Modern Care for Fine Fibers” in her packages. Do not agitate or wring the pants – instead gently squeeze them. To remove excess water roll them in a towel then lay flat to dry. Under no circumstances should you ever wash your wool pants in a washing machine – they will shrink and felt and be ruined. As your child wears the pants and you wash them they will get softer with time, but I must say they were considerably soft when we received them. Sugar didn’t mind them one bit and these were her first wool pants!
And so if you are looking for high quality knit wool pants for your little one I highly recommend checking out Margo’s creations at Orchid Lane Knits! If you want to grab up the same ones Sugar is modeling you can purchase them in your choice of color for $55 plus shipping. Be sure to browse around her Etsy shop because she also sells hats, photo props, and more. Here are a few of my favorite items…
Margo has been super generous and offered the winner of the monster prize pack in the Made With Love event their choice of Gossamer Monster Butt Pants! This event is taking place now so be sure to comment below with what color you would choose and another item that you love from Margo’s Etsy shop. This will count as an extra entry on the Rafflecopter form where it says “Comment on the Orchid Lane Knits Spotlight Post”.

Way too cute!!! (The knit pants and your girls!)
Awwww those pants are soooo cute!!!! I have to go check and see what else they have
Your daughter looks absolutely adorable in those pants! Thanks for the review!
I love the Evergreen Oyster Gossamer Monster Butt Pants! I also love the Green and Ivory Sporty Striped Boys Hat in Cotton
I like the longies. They’re adorable.
I think they’d be super cute in spruce! I also like her Blossom Classic Wool Diaper Covers – Custom Knit Longies.
Love the oyster longie, good for a boy now, maybe another girl or boy later ;0). The headbands are super cute too. My girls would look Dorable in any of them. Maybe I should learn to crochet…..
If you knew how many pairs of these we have, you would probably think I was crazy. THOUGH I do not have a monster face that will fit my Elliot anymore. He out grew them about 4 months ago and I just haven’t gotten around to ordering another pair. So grateful for you sharing these since I need to get in line to have some made for him and her prices are fairly reasonable compare to what I have paid in the past (normally 55-115)
i would love a pair of these in lilac for baby girl
I’d get them in either red or coal. I’d love either the soaker or shorties too!
Besides my grandchildren I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything cuter!!
