Santa needs to start shoppin’…

I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner.  In fact Dilly and Sugar have already visited Santa.  Dilly loved him and Sugar… well not so much.  This is the first year that Dilly has come up with a Christmas list and she was sure to tell Santa exactly what she wanted while her sister cried and screamed and cried some more.

Soon it will be Thanksgiving and then of course Black Friday and Cyber Monday!  That is when mama, errr, Santa does the majority of his Christmas shopping.  And so when Dilly was going through her list of must have toys I was sure to listen.  And just let me tell you this girl is not cheap!  Her number one present that I hear about all the time is a Fisher-Price Power Wheels Barbie Mustang – at least she has good taste.  And when she says things like “And I’ll take my sister for rides all the time” how could I possibly think about not indulging her in her Christmas wish.  Plus I am super excited to see the look of excitement on her face when she comes down the stairs Christmas morning and sees her bright shiny pink sports car sitting in the living room beside the Christmas tree and she realizes that Santa was here.

Now all of that sounds fine and dandy, but how do I go about paying for such a pricey Christmas gift?  Not to mention the rest of the list which includes baby dolls, pajamas, Dora toys, books, and lots lots more.  Plus we can’t forget Sugar!  She might not be able to give us a list yet, but her eyes light up when certain commercials come on the tv and that girl is a Dora nut case if I ever saw one.  So how is mama, errr, Santa supposed to afford to fill up the bottom of the Christmas tree?  I already mentioned Black Friday and Cyber Monday – I always make sure to hit up Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, and many more stores.  And when you pair the savings you can find at these stores with different coupons, perhaps some Walmart coupons then you are definitely on the right track to saving money and giving your kiddos the Christmas they dream about.

I am so excited to start Christmas shopping and gathering up all the toys Dilly has been talking about.  With two little ones in the house the magic of Christmas is back and the excitement in their eyes makes searching for the best deals so worth it!  What’s on your little ones Christmas list?  Do they have expensive taste like my Dilly?  Boy, do I dread as she gets older and starts asking for all sorts of expensive electronics and one day a real car … so for now I will be happy that it’s just a Power Wheels that she wants, hehe.

I agree that kiddos are expensive, and only get more so as they grow older! Money is tight this year, so we are definitely going the sales and coupons route.
