When I first started cloth diapering one of the facebook pages I happened upon was Mud Butt Cloth Diapers which Carrie founded in June of 2010, when Sugar was only two months old!  I loved that she was always posting progress pictures of the diapers she makes and I was constantly ooohing and ahhhing over all the pretty fabrics.  And so I was super excited when Carried asked if I would like to review one of her awesome diapers – of course I said yes!

On the Mud Butt Cloth Diapers Hyenacart you can find Bouncing Woolies, Clean B Products, u.p.Bags, extra inserts, in stock pocket diapers, and in stock AI2 Pocket Fusion Diapers…. and all of those things are awesome, but the specialty of Mud Butt Cloth Diapers is creating custom diapers!  That’s right you get to choose all the features of your diaper and Carrie turns it into a reality.  There are over 40 PUL colors, 25 snap colors, and 9 colors of touch tape to choose from – the possibilities are endless.

I thought it would be helpful to walk you through the ordering process of a custom Mud Butt Cloth Diaper.  You would first start on the Custom Orders Mud Butts and MIGHTY Mudd Butts page.  Next if you have a baby that is in the 8 to 35 pound range you will choose between Solid PUL Diaper, Minky Mud Butt Diaper, Print Diaper, or Holiday ‘phants.  The MIGHTY Mud Butt diapers are for larger toddlers in the 25 to 45+ weight range.  MIGHTY Mud Butt customs are available in print and solid PUL.  Once you have decided on the weight range and solid/print/minky option you will be taken to another page where you can completely customize your diaper!  Since Sugar weighs about 26 pounds I went with the original Mud Butt and chose the Print Diaper option.  I then had the options of print, diaper style, snap/touch tape color, 2nd snap/rise for touch tape color, insert choice, and overlapping snaps option.  Make sure to pull up the PUL and Snap Color Chart page when making your choices!  This is what my choices looked like when I was done choosing.  There are lots of choices, but it is very simple to navigate through the Mud Butt Cloth Diapers website and you have the joy of knowing that you have a completely custom diaper!

Ok… so now that I have told you the process to order a custom Mud Butt Cloth Diaper I want to go a little in depth on the actual diaper I chose which was the AI2 Pocket Fusion Diaper with an outer print, inner microchamois, AI2 microchamois topped insert, with snaps.  The AI2 was actually a happy accidents on Carrie’s part, but it has turned out to be her top seller on custom orders.  It gives moms (and dads) the convenience of a snap in insert, but the pocket is still available to add extra inserts for those super heavy wetters… like.. ahem, Sugar.  Plus if the diaper hasn’t been soiled you can simply snap in another insert and use it again before washing.  I have to say the sewing quality on this diaper is impeccable.  Carrie definitely sews all of her diapers with love and care.  I am super pleased and would love to try out a Mud Butt with touch tape closure.  I did mention that Sugar is a super heavy wetter and so I do need an extra insert inside the pocket to ensure no leaks, but it is much easier to snap in one insert and put one in the pocket than try to stuff two inserts in the pocket like I do with all my other diapers.  And look how cute she looks….
