There are only three super simple rules that must be followed.
1.) Grab the button from my right side bar and place in your post.
2.) Copy & paste the questions you feel comfortable answering.
3.) Link up with your pregnancy journal entry for this week at the bottom of my post – if you link to your blog’s home page unfortunately I will delete it from the list.
7 WEEKS PREGNANT
This week Baby Harper #3 is about .51 inches long and approximately the size of a blueberry. And huge news – baby now has hands and feet emerging from his/her developing arms and legs! Eyelid folds are partially covering his eyes which already have some color… wonder if I will get another big blue eyed baby? The tip of her nose is also taking shape as well as the tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of baby’s brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in baby’s growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body. And this is what he/she looks like…
About me & Baby Harper #3 this week….
Symptoms: The morning sickness is still here – though I have realized that if I pretty much eat constantly it stays away, hehe. Now I don’t eat a ton! I just eat small amounts frequently. And ya I am still super tired. I received a maternity shirt in the mail the other day that says “We need a nap” on it and it is perfection for how I am feeling right now.
Weight Gain: 1 pound (161 starting + 1 gain = 162 total) – no change.
Cravings: The past few days I have started getting cravings. Last night I was laying in bed talking to Dustin and said I really want some cheese. So he tells me to go out to the fridge because there are like 7 kinds of cheeses in there. Except I wanted Velveeta cheese and there was none of that in there! And I say that maybe I will just drive to Walmart to get some. To which Dustin replies that there is no point because they don’t have trail bologna (something I wanted earlier in the day) and I said but I just want a chunk of cheese. A few minutes later I say that I hope Dilly will be better behaved the next day to which Dustin replies….. “You have a better chance of finding Velveeta cheese in the fridge right now.” Oyyyy.
Food Aversions: None really…. it’s just either I want it or I don’t…. if I tried to eat something I don’t want then I might have this issue. Not sure though.
What made me cry this week: I don’t *think* I cried this week… shocker!
Medical Stuff: I had my first official OB appointment for Baby Harper #3 this week. It was rather boring though. Just a typical PAP smear and a bunch of questions. They have charted my due date as being August 20th, but it doesn’t really matter because my kiddos tend to come a week to two weeks early. And now I don’t go back til January 26th – the day after my birthday!
Thoughts from Dilly: Today Dilly asked how the new baby is going to fit in the car because we only have two car seats. She was very excited to hear that we would be getting a bigger vehicle and the new baby would have it’s own car seat as well. She also asked “Will I get to hold the baby soon?” and I told her she will definitely get to hold the baby, but it won’t be til the end of summer after my belly has gotten huge. I am vey glad she is getting excited about a new brother or sister though!
Something I am excited about: The mini family vacation we are taking to Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay for a mommy blogger event later this month. Since I am preggers Sugar and I can spend some relaxing time in the kiddie areas while Dilly hits the water slides with Dustin. Should be a blast!
