pregnancy journalWelcome to the “My Pregnancy Journal” meme, so if you are a pregger blogging mama then you will definitely wanna link up.

There are only three super simple rules that must be followed.

1.)  Grab the button from my right side bar and place in your post.
2.)  Copy & paste the questions you feel comfortable answering.
3.)  Link up with your pregnancy journal entry for this week at the bottom of my post – if you link to your blog’s home page unfortunately I will delete it from the list.

And this week Baby Harper #3 is about the size of a lemon (3.4 inches & 1.5 lemonounces) …. speaking of which I have had a lot of lemonade lately, hehe.  Baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his/her thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.  Baby is also stretching out.  His body’s growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that’s in proportion to the rest of his body though his legs still have some lengthening to do. He’s starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Plus baby’s liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it’s doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells.  And here is what Baby Harper #3 looks like this week….

About me & Baby Harper #3 this week….

Symptoms:   This week has been rather uneventful.  If I waited too long to eat I would get hit with the nagging morning sickness or a headache, but I pretty much know how to avoid that now which is awesome.  Oh I have really started breaking out which is NO fun because I rarely have any acne when I’m not pregnant.  And if I am on my feet for a long time I notice my ankles get a little puffy so I can only imagine what they are gonna look like this summer!

Weight Gain: +2…. putting me at 159 1/2 pounds total.

Cravings:  I’m like sour stuff this week.  I bought a box of Sour Patch Kids and seriously devoured them.  Oh and pickles those are yummy too!

Food Aversions:  Sweet stuff is still not my friend… I avoid it at all costs.

What made me cry this week:  So I did’t actually cry about this, but it did make me super sad.  We went to the mall to return a pair of jeans for Dustin and of course I had to stop by The Children’s Place to see what they had in Dilly’s size.  And she just transitioned to the “big kid” side of the store…. I know it probably seems silly to be sad about that, but it means she is growing up.  That she truly isn’t a toddler anymore.  She is a big kid.  Where has the time gone???

Medical Stuff:  I *think* I am getting another yeast infection.  I really hope not, but it appears that way.  Fingers crossed this just goes away, but I doubt that will be the case. Urgh.

Thoughts from Dilly:  While at church someone asked me what Dilly is hoping the baby will be and I said she always says it is going to be a brother.  So I turned to Dilly and said “Hey, Do you want a brother or sister?” And you know she said sister!  Why do kids always make a liar out of ya? hehe.

Something I am excited about: I am officially in the 2nd trimester! YAY!!

My son did the same thing as Dilly! He’d insist he wanted a brother, then as soon as I started telling people he was doing that, he switched to wanting a sister. Then just when I started saying that he’d been insisting on a sister, he switched back to wanting a boy. Go figure. Turns out we are having a boy, so at least we ended up with what he was wanting at the time. haha!

haha Kids will ALWAYS make a liar out of you. I love reading these updates, btw. And your bump is getting mighty cute these days! 🙂

  6. Jayden did the same just yesterday. my grandma asked him what mommy is going to have and he insisted it was a baby brother, but he has always insisted its a baby sister. As soon as my grandmother left and my mom asked him he said a baby sister like he never said a brother before.
