pregnancy journalWelcome to the “My Pregnancy Journal” meme, so if you are a pregger blogging mama then you will definitely wanna link up.

There are only three super simple rules that must be followed.

1.)  Grab the button from my right side bar and place in your post.
2.)  Copy & paste the questions you feel comfortable answering.
3.)  Link up with your pregnancy journal entry for this week at the bottom of my post – if you link to your blog’s home page unfortunately I will delete it from the list.

This week Baby Girl is approximately the size of a sweet potato – roughly 5.6” sweet potatoeand 6.7 ounces.  She’s busy flexing her arms and legs. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin, and her ears are now in their final position, although they’re still standing out from her head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she’s born. Baby Girl’s uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. And this is what she looks like…

This morning we went back to the 3d ultrasound facility to see if Baby Girl would be a bit more cooperative and she was! YAY!!  We were able to get a definite view that she is definitely a girl – I was a lil nervous about this since I had already been ordering fabric and things for her room, hehe.  And some really good 3d images too.  And so this is what she REALLY looks like…

About me & Baby Girl this week….

Symptoms:   Migraines.  Oh holy freakin migraines.  I actually had to leave my bowling league after the 2nd game this week because I couldn’t stand up straight or hold my eyes open and I thought I was gonna puke all over the lane.  Luckily I called my OB and he was able to prescribe me some medicine for when my migraines get really bad…. so far it has really been helping.

Weight Gain: +3 pounds, so 160 1/2 pounds.  I’m not feeling too bad about this week though because I started this pregnancy at 161 pounds and I’m not even back to that yet. So ha! LOL.

Cravings:  Hmmm, no cravings really this week….. everything kinda looks good though.  Oh one day I did have Dustin get me a sub from Subway AND a curly fry from Arby’s for lunch, hehe.

Food Aversions:  Everything is actually starting to look good… which could actually be a bad thing, hehe.

What made me cry this week:  A few things… my head hurt so badly with those migraines that I was crying.  Then I heard a song on the radio the other day that brought back a flood of memories – Tim McGraw – Just To See You Smile.

Medical Stuff:  My OB appointment last Friday was rather boring…. just measured my belly and that sorta stuff.  I was measuring 17 weeks which about right on and Baby Girl’s heart rate was 146 bpm.  We did schedule my OB ultrasound which will be April 9th.

Thoughts from Dilly:  Well this past week we had a little misunderstanding with a family member regarding the name we chose for Baby Girl.  I really don’t understand why when you tell people what you are naming your child they think you have asked their opinion, but that is besides the point.  This misunderstanding had me a ball of emotions and tears were streaming.  I loaded my kiddos up in the car and when we got home Dilly informed me she was mad.  I asked her why and she said “Because of the new baby.” And so I asked her if she liked the name we had chosen and she said “Ya I really like {insert Baby Girl’s name with a Dilly twang, hehe}.  It’s a good name!”  Sometimes when I’m really down and out all I need is that rambunctious almost 4 year old to make me the happiest person ever.

Something I am excited about: Working on the nursery!  I picked out a paint color and am so excited for Dustin to start painting!!  And of course there will be pictures.
