Are you familiar with vaginal mesh?  If not I wanted to tell you a bit about what it is before sharing this interesting infographic with you.  Vaginal mesh refers to a semi-permeable barrier implanted by a physician into a woman as a reinforcement structure to keep her internal organs in place. This mesh is implanted in a few different procedures including Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) and Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI).  If you have had vaginal mesh implanted or it has been suggested to you then you will definitely want to check out this infographic.

So why was this infographic created?
The Rottenstein Law Group wanted to educate the public about the history and present dangers of vaginal mesh.  As you can see several mesh products (now the subject of lawsuits) received FDA approval based on similarity to a recalled device. There is also a timeline of significant events in the history of vaginal mesh, details about injury reports received by the FDA, and statistics explaining injuries occurring from vaginal mesh.
