With soon to be three girls in our home we have gone through tons of toys, but I am always on the look out for new toys to intrigue the girls – especially ones that will spark their imagination without the use of batteries or being plugged into the wall. I was so excited when I stumbled upon Geared for Imagination which is an Ohio based creator and distributor of high quality toys. In fact they are located about a half hour from me which I thought was pretty awesome! Geared for Imagination was founded in 2009 by two dads – Ryan Hamilton (3 daughters, 1 son) and Bret Faber (1 daughter, 1 son) – who have combined their many years in the toy business and their experience as father’s to bring only the best toys to their customers. Ryan and Bret have selected an amazing selection of toys to carry in their retail outlets throughout the United States and I was thrilled to receive a few toys from the Woodours collection.
It’s a well known fact that Baby Girl’s nursery is being decorated in a squirrel
and acorn theme so when I saw the pull along squirrel I knew she had to have one, but then I soon was wanting all of the Woodours collection. The Woodours (from the French, literally “Wood-Bear”) collection tells the story of a Papa and Baby Bear. Papa is strong as an oak tree, but a gentle soul. Woodours combines the best of teddy-bear cuddliness with a modern flair.
The items we received are technically going to be for Baby Girl, but of course her big sisters are having fun playing with them in the mean time. I was very excited to find the Woodours Baby Bear with Teether, Board Book, and Squirrel Pull Toy in the package that arrived at our home.
I just know when Baby Girl reaches the teething stage she will just love her Baby Bear with Teether! This lil bear measures 8.5” tall, has a beanbag bottom, plus the baby safe teething biscuit. The different fabric prints on his paws, ears, and belly add an adorable whimsical touch that is hard to come by in modern toys. Plus Woodours has recently partnered with Scholastic to add a board book to their collection. In the book Big Bear and Little Bear have a fun day greeting their friends (including squirrel!) and having adventures, but centers around a parent’s love for their child. Sugar especially enjoyed the touch and feel spots in the book and loves “reading” it to herself.
Both Dilly and Sugar love pulling the squirrel around the house which is
designed for 18 months and up. When he’s not being played with he is proudly displayed on the night stand in Baby Girl’s nursery…. but that is not too often, hehe. The squirrel is made of wooden pieces which are then finished in non-toxic paint. I have been very impressed with how well he has held up with the abuse love that Sugar has put him through! I love how the wheels match the fabric on Baby Bear’s tummy and other pieces in the collection, plus he wobbles when pulled which is just too cute.
I can definitely say I am 110% pleased with all the toys we received from the Woodours collection and would love to get more for Baby Girl to play with…. especially the Play Mat which is absolutely gorgeous! And as I mentioned before Geared for Imagination has quite a few other collections that you will want to check out as well. Plus they have offered a very generous giveaway to my readers – just fill out the Rafflecopter form below!
