Never Wordless Wednesday: Swim Lessons

I have definitely been keeping Alleigh and Kaelyn busy this summer because I want to pack as much fun and excitement into the summer before Willow joins our family in August.  And so the girls have been taking swim lessons every Friday morning for the past few weeks.  They both absolutely love swim lessons and they utterly wear this pregger momma out, hehe.

Have your kids taken swim lessons?  At what age did you start or plan to start?  This is Kaelyn’s first lesson at a lil over two years old, but Alleigh took lessons when she was around a year old.  I plan to keep them in lessons more regularly now because I definitely want them to learn proper swimming techniques so they can be safe in and around the water.

  1. FUN, and adorable!! It’s so awesome you are doing lessons with them now. We live in AZ where there is a pool in nearly every yard, so I am freaked out until my kids learn to swim. We did lessons with them early too, but with the city (it’s cheaper). We finally gave up because there were so many kids and they weren’t getting much out of it, and started teaching them ourselves. So far so good! 2 kids swim awesome, 1 almost done and Connor (21 months) is loving the water and hopefully be swimming on his own by the end of next summer. :)

  2. I love the photos! Looks like you guys have a ton of fun! Do you have someone to go with you to help with the girl who isn’t in the water with you?

I did swim lessons with my first when he was between 1-2 yrs old. Not sure, it was so long ago. All that I remember is that I was pregnant… so he was either 1 or 2 haha. (I was pregnant for 3 straight years). My next two did not have swim lessons until they were closer to 5. Gracie has not had swim lessons and I’ve been dying to get her in! We have an awesome indoor place for lessons here. They use fresh water and it’s very warm. They teach children from 6 months and up and the first thing they teach is how to flip over to their back and float. I wish I would’ve put Gracie in 2 years ago!

    • Actually that’s my sister in the water with my oldest. They are in separate classes, but at the exact same time. Since Dustin works swing shift he is able to go every other week with us and then my sister helps me the other weeks. :)

Looks fun (and tiring!) and makes me think I should put LA in swim lessons now even though he’ll only be 2 next month! I think he would love it!! :)
