Have you ever thought something along the lines of…. “Wow my life would be so much easier if I just had this product”?  Well who better to invent those products that make life easier for parents than moms themselves – maybe even you?  And guess who recognizes that?

Through the Huggies MomInspired Grant Program they have given moms a chance to channel their moments of ingenuity into products that help improve the lives of children and parents.  This program celebrates the natural creativity of moms, who solve real parenting challenges every day in innovative ways by awarding selected moms with grant money to explore and grow their own unique baby or child care ideas.  In fact in 2010 and 2011 there were 21 grants awarded to provide resources and seed capital to help fund business startups and new product innovations inspired by motherhood.  I was excited to see that one of those chosen mom’s has actually been featured here at Happenings of the Harper Household – Romy Taormina, inventor of the amazing PsiBands!  One of the products that helped me get through that awful first trimester and so I want to give a big thanks to Huggies for believing in Romy and her brilliant idea!  Be sure to check out all the other awesome Mother’s of Invention from 2010 & 2011.

So do you have an idea you would like to submit?  Now is the time because Huggies is currently accepting applications for the 2012 MomInspired grant program.  To learn more learn more and submit original, innovative and viable new business and product ideas now be sure to visit the Huggies MomInspired website from April 25 – July 31, 2012.  Now in their third year Huggies will award up to a dozen moms $15,000 grants to help launch their new, innovative baby or child care product that can ease parents’ messes and stresses.  These grants will be awarded in fall 2012.
