34 WEEKS PREGNANT

cantaloupeThis week Willow weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her bodyIMG_2499 temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.  And this is what she looks like this week…

About me & Willow Jean this week….

Symptoms:  The heartburn has been pretty bad this week.  And little Willow just loves my ribs…. she is jammed so far up in there that I barely want to eat anything.  Plus if I try to bend over to pick anything up I feel like I am gonna lose anything that is in my belly.  Oh and definitely still tired…. I could nap all day long if I was able to.

Weight Gain: +2 pounds, putting me at 172 pounds total…. I started at 161, so a total of 11 pounds up.

Cravings:  Not really craving anything lately since I can barely eat as it is.

Food Aversions:  Most everything because I know it will trigger the heartburn….. and the heartburn is getting really bad. Oyyyy.

What made me cry this week:  Well this is kinda random… but I was driving to an appointment this week and somehow I got to thinking about how I really want to go on a date with my hubby.  And it got me all teary eyed.  Like… I want a real date.  I love my kids, but I kinda want to pretend to go on a date like we used to before we were married.  Maybe go miniature golfing or to the drive in.  Hold hands.  Kiss in public.  Maybe even make out in the car before we come inside at the end of the date.  I feel crazy even writing this… but I really really want this.

Medical Stuff:  I had my 34 week tummy check on Monday.  Everything is looking good… I’m measuring right on target and Willow’s heart rate was 140.  Scheduled my next appointment for 36 weeks…. can’t believe I only have a few more appointments left!

Thoughts from Alleigh & Kaelyn:  Today I asked the girls what their thoughts were on Halloween costumes…. if you are a blogger like me then you know that companies want these reviews starting like NOW.  Anyhow, I asked what they thought about maybe being pirates and then Willow being a parrot.  They both were totally up for this idea and I asked them what they would say instead of trick-or-treat since they would be pirates… Kaelyn looked right at me and said “Arghhhh – give me some candy!”  I about peed my pants.  It was absolutely hysterical.

Something I am excited about: Maybe having that date with my hubby that I mentioned earlier.  I know he reads my blog posts…. so perhaps he will take it upon himself to schedule a babysitter and make that night happen?  If it happens I will totally let you know.

I love the pics of your cute belly. I remember getting emotional over what I thought was trivial stuff too.
