This past week the girls and I went on a lil over night trip to Put-in-Bay with my parents. I hadn’t been there since I was about 10 years old or so and it was rather refreshing to see that not much had changed. I loved watching my girls enjoy all the different parts of the island.
They absolutely loved the ferry ride over to the island…. it was Kaelyn’s first time on a boat and probably the first time Alleigh remembers being on a boat.
However, they loved riding all over the island in a golf cart more than the ferry. The girls both took turns sitting up front with Pappy and it was so relaxing to feel the nice breeze blowing against our skin.
We also checked out a fun lil place where the girls panned for gemstones… right now they both love rocks so this went over very well. Then we visited a butterfly house and experienced hundreds of butterflies flying around us. Oh and the girls rode a carousel with Nana… I passed because of the big pregger belly I am toting around, hehe… and Pappy passed because he gets motion sickness – but they absolutely loved it!
One of my favorite parts of the day had to be just sitting by the waters edge on the stony beach watching the girls collect pretty stones and get their shorts a little wet. I love those peaceful times.
Before leaving the island we also had a delicious lunch – served on a frisbee for the girls. And we visited a little arcade that also had go-carts. Kaelyn rode in the go-cart with Pappy and Alleigh with Nanny. Both of the girls loved going fast, hehe and big prego mama watched from the side lines. When all was said and done Kaelyn fell asleep in the golf cart on the way back to the ferry and we headed back to the mainland then to our hotel for the night.
We definitely all had a fun and exhausting day!
The next day we visited the African Safari Wildlife Park – don’t worry there are lots of pictures from that day too that will be posted very soon.
