3.)  Link up with your pregnancy journal entry for this week at the bottom of my post – if you link to your blog’s home page unfortunately I will delete it from the list.

Well Willow sure is comfy in there waiting to greet the world! She continues to watermelonbuild a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it’s likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds or roughly the size of a mini watermelon.  The outer layers of her skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.  And here is what she looks like this week…

About me & Willow Jean this week….

Symptoms:  I’m so tired.  I really don’t think I have any more energy left in this body.  My calves have been cramping up a lot lately and things like walking up stairs is a huge struggle.  The hubby and I went on a two mile walk the other day to try to get contractions started….. did nothing.  Then the other day I went to the chiropractor for an adjustment and he did acupuncture on the points that help induce labor.  That evening I was getting contractions!  In fact from 7pm to 9pm they were a bit random.  Then from 9pm til 12:30am they were 10 minutes apart and about a minute long.  I wasn’t in any pain really so I decided to lay down and go to sleep.  Through out the night I woke up to a few pretty painful contractions, but was still able to go back to sleep.  And then when I woke up in the morning they were gone.  I was SO disappointed.  But I suppose baby girl is just really comfy in there and I am trying to gather the patience to wait for her… trying!!

Weight Gain: -2 pounds, putting me at 170 pounds total…. I started at 161, so a total of 9 pounds up.

Cravings:  The other night I really wanted BW3’s sweet bbq chicken wings at about 11pm at night.  And to my surprise Dustin told me to order them and he would go get them!  And he didn’t even want any.  Oh my gosh they were sooooo good.  Definitely hit the spot.  Oh and another night this week I decided to make fried potatoes at 1am.  Who does that???  Yup, me.

Food Aversions:  The girls were eating something that they wanted ketchup with the other day and when I opened the ketchup bottle to pour it on their plates I almost puked in my mouth.  I have no idea what that was all about.

What made me cry this week:  Well it wasn’t crying because I was sad… it was crying because I was laughing SO hard.  Kaelyn does this crazy thing with her legs when she dances where she kicks them straight out and it seriously looks like a little Nazi walk.  Well she got a hold of a pen that Dustin left sitting out and drew all over herself.  Including this little smudge right above her upper lip.  Picture that and her doing that dance.  I just couldn’t contain myself….. and please do not take this the wrong way…. there is nothing funny about the Holocaust, but a two year old who has no idea what she is doing…. so funny I about peed myself.

Medical Stuff:  My last OB appt went great…. everything is looking good.  The doctor did mention talking induction at my appointment this week, but that’s not gonna happen.  I absolutely refuse to be induced til I have hit 42 weeks.  But I really hope she comes before that.

Thoughts from Alleigh & Kaelyn:  The girls got this adorable pretend makeup set this week – which I posted a review and giveaway for – and have been playing with it all the time.  They thought that Willow also needed a makeover and so here they are applying makeup to my belly.  Too cute.

Oh and another thing.  I asked Alleigh when the baby is going to be born and she told me “the end of August.”  I was like oh no that is way too far away and asked her who told her that.  And so she replies “No one…. I just know.”  Oh please tell me this is not one of those things that little kids really do just know.

Something I am excited about:  Well I do have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow and he told me that we could do the acupuncture again…. since it triggered contractions last time maybe it will work for real this time?  I hope.

We keep praying for patience for all of you waiting on sweet Willow to arrive. I know how hard it is I went to my due date before I was induced. Stay strong on the waiting till 42 weeks till induction I think some docs like to rush things a bit. Good luck with the accupuncture I hope it works for real this time 🙂 You’re in my thoughts daily. 🙂

  2. Hang in there Mama! You look fantastic and you’ll be holding & kissing your sweet Willow in no time!

I was not following at the beginning of your pregnancy so maybe this was already addressed, but isn’t anyone concerned that you have only gained 9 lbs? I was “prescribed” to eat ice cream and nuts in order to help me put on weight when I wasn’t gaining.

    • Hi Jen –
I understand your concern…. my first pregnancy I gained 33 pounds… and well didn’t lose it all after having her. Then my second pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and only gained 11 pounds due to the strict diet I was on to control that. This time at the beginning of the pregnancy I was very sick and lost quite a bit of weight from that and well have been eating everything in sight for quite some time so the doctors aren’t concerned. Baby girl is growing and measuring just as she should and all is well. As you can see in the picture my belly is rather massive…. I honestly am stumped that I have only gained 9 pounds this time around. I have been a lot more active since this has been a summer pregnancy. My girls were in swim classes that I attended with them, I took water fitness, we are always at the park or outside doing something… so maybe that has something to do with it? I guess as long as the baby is healthy I’m not too concerned with the number on the scale. 🙂 Sorry for the novel.

My daughter who was 3 at the time told me I was pregnant before we even knew. Then, she was at my parents house; because my husband was sick and before we left her on Saturday, she told my belly goodbye and said, see you Monday. I told her we still had an entire week before his due date; but she was conviced and said no, I will see the baby Monday. Low and behold I went into labor late Sunday night and had our boy very early Monday morning. My daughter woke up and went into my parents room, woke up my dad at 4:00 in the morning and said Papa it’s time to go see my brother.

    • Rebecca!!! I am telling you kids know EVERYTHING!! And so I am just gonna suck it up and be prepared to wait til the end of August because that is obviously when Willow will be coming, LOL!

  5. Patience is so important and difficult at the same time.. I’m there with you (but past my due date).. frustrating. Hope both Willow and baby boy come soon.. I’m ready to hold my little one in my arms and I know you are too.
