Polly Pocket & the Playtime Pet Shop!

Almost a month ago I wrote a blog post about some awesome new Polly Pocket toys (Hangout House & Patio) that Alleigh and Kaelyn got to try out.  Since then they have been playing with Polly and her friends every chance they get.  They loved how they could make Polly and her accessories stick anywhere they wanted thanks to the suction cups on each piece.  And so for the past month they have been having fun with Polly swimming in her pool, swinging, grilling out on the patio, and taking bubble baths.  Recently a new play set arrived at our house and the girls have sent Polly to work caring for a bunch of adorable animals at the Polly Pocket Playtime Pet Shop.

IMG_3712Now I will admit when I opened up this play set for the girls I about had an anxiety attack because there were so many small pieces, but this is something momma is gonna have to get used to… :: deep breath ::

So once I got over that initial shock, hehe, the Playtime Pet Shop was very easy to put together.  There were only a few pieces to click together and theIMG_3713 girls were ready to play.  Of course they were super excited about all those little pieces which included Polly, 8 pets (dog, cat, 3 kittens, bunny, 2 lovebirds), food dish, pet toys, towel, shampoo bottles, treats, cash register, swing, pet carrier, leashes, and towel.  Alleigh immediately got to work helping Polly care for all of her animals.

I was amazed at how many moving pieces and surprises were packed into one cute little play set and so was Alleigh.  After sending Polly for a ride up IMG_3720the bright green elevator Alleigh slide her feet into the shoe holds and moved her back and forth using a smell lever to give the dog a bath.  She also enjoyed letting Polly and the animals swing together at the same time from the double swing while the lovebirds sat on their perch nearby.  The slide and secret passage drop were also fun touches – wouldn’t it be fun to have a slide at work to get from the second floor to the first floor?  I suppose we can dream, hehe.  Even though she loved all of those features I think Alleigh enjoyed the rotating carousel and treat dispenser the best.  She put animals in all three sections of the carousel and spun them around so Polly could check them all out then pressed the lever down to dispense treats for the cats and dog.  So much fun!

Both Alleigh and Kaelyn have had so much fun playing with the colorful fun world of Polly Pocket in both her Hangout House and Playtime Pet Shop, so imagine their excitement when they learned there were also Polly Pocket DVD’s.  The girls received the Polly Pocket Friends Finish First DVD which is a tad over twenty minutes long and features Polly and some of her friends.  In the movie they group goes on a big adventure where they learn all about working together and putting friendships first.  This theme seemed to really excite Alleigh since she has recently started pre-kindergarten and is making lots of new friends.  Of course now we can’t play with the Polly Pocket sets without also popping the DVD in, but that’s ok because it gives us a break from the other shows and movies that have been watched way too many times, hehe.

Both Alleigh and Kaelyn really enjoy playing with all of the Polly Pocket sets together and I think they would to receive more as gifts from Santa Claus this Christmas.  If you have any little girls in your life I highly suggest checking out these new play sets – their sure to be a big hit in your home as well!  Just be sure to get a small container of some sort to store all these little pieces in!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Polly Pocket. I received a product samples and a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
