Did you have a Rubik’s cube as a kid?  Or maybe you still have one.  There are definitely tons floating around considering in their 30 year history Rubik’s has sold over 350 million cubes!  And confused Mama Harper has still never figured one out, hehe.  But now there are some Rubik’s products that I am actually able to do because Tollytots is turning this iconic brand into a toy collection that offers classic core values plus has parental nostalgia.  I’m sure at this moment you are remembering playing with your Rubik’s cube as a kid – am I right?  Each toy in the collection represents the original Rubik’s cube with the same shapes and colors to bring ya right back to your childhood.

Alleigh and Kaelyn received the Rubik’s Stack & Build Blocks to try out.IMG_3162

The set comes with 20 blocks in four different shapes – large rectangle, small rectangle, square, and triangle.  Since the blocks are formed in pure geometric shapes they are able to be built to resemble a Rubik’s cube. However, they can also be built and stacked to resemble anything your little one can imagine like Alleigh and Kaelyn enjoy doing…

The shapes are made in Montessori forms which promote developmental size and shape understanding.  Plus the block come in unit multiples of each other for easy building into different structures.  The girls really enjoy matching and comparing the different colors, shapes, and sizes as they play.  I like that the blocks are rather light weight and the corners are a bit rounded so I don’t have to worry about a tossed block causing serious harm.  Yes, my girls are adorable, but I admit they are in a temper tantrum stage which results in throwing of toys on occasion… oyyy.

rubikscubeThere are quite a few other Rubik’s cube inspired toys in the Fall 2012 line including an adorable “My First Rubik’s Cube” that I think Willow will definitely need to try… or well chew, hehe.

So do you want to introduce your little one to the magic of the Rubik’s cube?  Start out with one of these awesome new toys.  And guess what?  One lucky Happenings of the Harper Household reader will win their very own set of Rubik’s Stack & Build Blocks.  To enter fill out the Rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!
