Mama Harper Needs a Bigger Vehicle! #KiaSocialClub

The last time Dustin and I took what I consider a road trip was almost five years ago… a little baby moon when I was about 32 weeks pregnant with Alleigh.  We jumped in the car and drove a few hours to Hocking Hills, Ohio where we spent the weekend hanging out in a cozy little cabin and hiking the gorgeous trails – though I was a bit slow going on the hiking, hehe.

Back then we had a rather small car and if we would want to head out on another road trip that car just wouldn’t cut it anymore with three little ones in tow.  We do have a vehicle that fits three car seats, but it’s a rather snug fit and doesn’t leave room for anyone else besides our family of five.  I’ve really started to put some thought into becoming a mini van mama.  The space would be awesome and well I think I could totally rock a Kia Sedona especially since I have heard there is going to be a new redesigned model for 2014.

What do you think?  Are there any Kia Sedona owners out there?  What do you love about it?  Or what don’t you like?  I need honest opinions!!  I’d love to pop an address into the GPS and head out on a road trip with our girls, but before that can happen I need a vehicle that comfortably seats us all.  Help!

I don’t own a Kia, but my aunt does. She loves hers! I’m totally jealous. She got it earlier this year and it’s a beautiful vehicle. I’m ready to downside to a CUV! =) You guys look so cute!

  2. First off, what a FUN place to take a babymoon! It looks just gorgeous!
I loved our van, though we quickly outgrew it. The Kia Desona do look nice, and the GPS sounds like a fun extra!

    Morning Mama Harper!!
Ok, I just bought a mini van so great time to bring this up for discussion! Not sure what your budget may be but there are a lot of options out there for a minivan seeking mom. I spent the last four and a half years driving a Hyundai Entourage which is the exact replica of a Kia Sodona. I looked to upgrade in the spring since the entourage has been discontinued and the Sodona’s was in my wheelhouse for payments. After test driving the 2012 Kia, I was disappointed by the chinseyness of its ride. It was still and clanky. My 2007 Hyundai had s more solid ride. I thought a 5 year newer vehicle would be more impressive but with test driving it, I felt every bump and pothole on the road. Surprised and disappointed, I left Kia empty handed. I went to Honda and leased a brand new mini van (Honda Odyssey) for the same payment of buying a new Kia. You may not want to lease but the option is there where its not on the Kia Sadona. (The dealer told me they don’t lease well) The Honda has an amazing GPS TOO! Good luck on your wheelin’ & dealin’!!!

Also, the odyssey can easily and is designed by Honda to fit three car seats in the center row. And it has 18, yes 18 cup holders!

  5. I want a mini van, too, but hubby won’t stand for it, LOL!
Maybe when we can afford another vehicle I can get one to be MY car. ;-)

I joined the mini van mama club in July of this year! I told hubby I would never drive one but I am so glad he finally talked me into it! I love it! It’s not a Kia, but it was a great decision for our growing family! I have a friend who own the Kia Sedona and she does love it!!

  7. I just bought a Kia Sedona less then 2 weeks ago. It is used, but seems brand new. I love it so far. It drive smooth and has so much room. Everything is power, its great. So far the only thing I don’t like is that it has 17 inch tires and they are expensive. We need to replace 2 of them.

  8. We used to have a Kia Sorento. LOVED it! It just wasn’t big enough for our expanding family. We were looking into mini vans and Hubby didn’t like the look of the Sedona. But we LOVE the Kia brand.
