Watch Willow Grow: 9 weeks

WWG

It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for the weekly Willow update!  I enjoyed writing my pregnancy journal and sharing my journey with everyone so much that I have decided to continue by writing about Willow’s first year.  And so each week I will be sharing how my baby girl is growing and changing plus lots of pictures!

WHAT WILLOW’S DAYS & NIGHTS ARE LIKE…

A visit with Dr. Tom…  Willow’s coughing and breathing was just getting worse and worse, so instead of waiting for her two month doctor’s appointment I called and we went in a few days early.  After checking Willow out and going over all her symptoms with me Dr. Tom decided to test Willow for RSV.  He said he’s never seen the test turn positive so fast.  I was literally in shock.  He then told me he thought she also had bronchiolitis.  We were sent home with a nebulizer and prescription for albuterol.  She has been showing lots of improvement with the breathing treatments, but there is still quite a ways to go.  I knew having Alleigh in school now we would be exposed to lots more germs, but I never thought we would be battling RSV with out two month old.

Sleeping:  Since starting the breathing treatments Willow has been sleeping much better.  She is no longer having difficulties breathing at night and is much less snorty.  She typically wakes up once to eat in the middle of the night and I also give her a breathing treatment then.  She no longer wants to be swaddled at night and has decided she doesn’t like sleepers.  She has begun kicking and kicking and kicking her legs when wearing sleepers until she gets her legs out of the leg openings making herself upset when her legs get all bunched up in the body of the sleeper.  I decided to try the little pajama gowns and she loves them!  And so now I am trying to score some deals on some more girly pajama gowns, hehe.

Eating:  Nursing is also going much better now that we have started the breathing treatments since she can breath easier.  I love that she now looks up and sees what I am doing while nursing.  Love those little one eyed glances.

Places She Went:  To see Dr. Tom, a few errands, and Pap’s Surprise Birthday Party.

Other Random Stuff:  I decided to try a home remedy for Willow’s cradle cap.  I rubbed some olive oil on the scaly parts of her head and let it set for a few minutes.  Ran a brush through her hair a few times and shampooed.  Her head looks great now!  She is also really starting to smile and coo when talked to…. especially to mama.  She’s growing so fast – already 11lbs 4 oz.
