It seems every day my hair is up in some way whether it be a pony tail, half up, twisted up…. you get the idea. Since my days consist of chasing around a four and two year old, changing diapers, breastfeeding, doing laundry, continuously picking up messes, and staring into the computer screen for long periods of time having my hair hanging down in my face is just not practical. But I really hated just using a simple elastic band – for some reason they give off a childish vibe to me, especially when doing a half up style. Let’s face it – I already look young enough… in fact I get told all the time I look too young to have three kids. And so I needed a way to pull my hair up and out of my face and still look like an adult. Then something awesome happened. Tabitha, an independent consultant for Lilla Rose, sent me a message asking if I’d like to try out some hair jewelry. After a glance at the website I knew I had found my answer.
The Lilla Rose line of hair jewelry began with the Flexi Clip, but grew to include Hair Sticks, Orings, Hairbands, Bobby Pins, You Pins, and even Badge Holders. I was very excited to pick out two Flexi Clips to try out and ended up choosing Simple Band in medium and Roman Stone in extra small.
If you’re not familiar with Lilla Rose the Flexi Clip probably looks completely new to you. I just couldn’t get over how many different designs and colors there were to choose from. Plus the designs are very sleek and elegant – not childish at all. For my first two clips I decided to go with colors and designs that would match literally anything I would wear, but now I am eyeing up so many of the clips – I need more!! Hehe. The beading on the Flexi Clip is done on wire that has some flex to it so that it practically hugs your hair and the sliding pin is adjustable to get a perfect fit. What amazed me the most about these hair clips was how comfortable they are. I love to twist my hair up and use claw clips, but then when I lean back against a chair or try to lay down on the couch I feel like my head is being poked out and it hurts. But now with the Flexi Clip – in fact many times I forget it’s even there! It’s so comfy I can fall asleep with it in my hair and not wake up with a headache. You know what I’m talking about… the head ache from a pony tail being too tight. The Flexi Clip is also available in seven sizes ranging from mini to mega. Check out this video is great to figure out what size Flexi Clip will work best for your particular hair type and length.
Another awesome thing about the Flexi Clip is that you can literally do any hair style with it. On the Lilla Rose website you can find videos that show step by step how to do a half twist, pony tail, half up, french twist, up & down, tails up, drop bun, and extra long. Since it’s a bit difficult to take a picture of the back of my head and my daughters have gobs of hair they were called in to be my models. This first picture is of my two year old… yes she has that much crazy thick hair! I did her hair in a tails up using the medium Flexi Clip.
Then we did a half up with an extra small Flexi Clip on my four year old who has much longer, but thinner hair.
For my four year old we could even use the extra small to do a low pony tail.
And that’s just a few examples of what you can do with a Flexi Clip. I know I already mentioned they are comfortable, but seriously they are SO comfortable I have to mention it again. I literally wear mine every single day. In fact I am wearing my hair half up with the extra small right now! And I’m totally ready to order some more. If you are too then you will want to check out this awesome deal for today only (January 18th 2013).
