My little Kaelyn Mae wants to be just like her big sister and that includes riding a bike. And so we got her a tricycle, but munchkin just doesn’t quite understand the whole pedaling concept yet so she was very frustrated. And then it hit me – why not get her a balance bike! There are many balance bikes on the market, but the key was finding one that was age appropriate for my two year old who is on the short end of the growth chart, hehe. While searching around the internet I was so excited to see that the makers of my girls beloved PlasmaCar had introduced a balance bike specifically for the younger kiddos even as young as 18 months – the PlasmaBike!
The PlasmaBike is available in two color schemes of which Kaelyn received the black bodied bike with red wheels, seat, and handlebars. Something that every parent will appreciate is that the PlasmaBike ships fully assembled – simply open the box and your kiddo is ready to ride. Plus it is super light weight at only eight pounds which means we can take the PlasmaBike everywhere we go… outside to ride in the street with the big kids (with adult supervision on our little dead end street), inside when it’s cold or rainy, to Nan & Pap’s house, a local park, anywhere!
The seat of the PlasmaBike is approximately twelve inches off the ground which makes it very easy for Kaelyn to get on and off with ease. The most important part of a balance bike for a very young child is having very wide wheels like the PlasmaBike’s six inch wheels so that the bike stays balanced even when stopped. The steering is also limited which further increases the ability for a young child to keep the PlasmaBike balanced. All of these features together will increase your little one’s confidence because they are successfully riding a bike with two wheels just like the big kids or in Kaelyn’s case just like her big sister! Oh and there’s even a horn to let those big kids know to watch out because Kaelyn’s coming through, hehe.
As she gets a bit older I plan to get her a balance bike with thinner wheels and she will eventually transition to a conventional two wheel bike, but for now Kaelyn already has the confidence of a big kid thanks to PlaSmart and the awesome PlasmaBike! Look at her go…
As you can tell Kaelyn and Mama Harper both love the PlasmaBike and highly suggest it for your little ones first balance bike. It’ll keep your little one active and prepare them for learning to ride a conventional bike – what’s not to like? And guess what – you can enter to win one below. Just fill out the Rafflecopter form. Good luck!
