Yesterday was the big day! Alleigh and Kaelyn were so excited to see the whole Yo Gabba Gabba! crew in real life at the Akron Civic Theater {Akron, Ohio} during the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out! tour. There were two performance times to choose from – 3:30PM & 6:30PM. And so Alleigh, Kaelyn, Willow, my sister, and I piled in the car and headed to the 3:30PM show. Of course the girls had to rock their Yo Gabba Gabba! shirts for the show and they looked mighty cute too, hehe.
For the past three years Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! has performed in front of countless fans across the U.S. and Canada, but this was the first time we got to take part in the fun. The “Get the Sillies Out!” tour was created by taking the fan favorites from the past two tours and combining them with some all-new music and other surprises to make one awesomely spectacular show.
After parking in a near by parking deck our little group made our way to the Akron Civic Theater which was absolutely gorgeous. We were shown to our seats just in time for the show to start and within a few minutes DJ Lance Rock was out on stage. And that is when I realized how awesome this show was going to be. Many times when attending live performances of kids television shows it’s not exactly the same as what you see while watching from home which can be a little disappointing for the kiddos. That definitely wasn’t the case with Yo Gabba Gabba! In fact it was like our television screen had multiplied by a thousand and come to life right before our eyes. Muno, Toodee, Foofa, Brobee, and Plex looked exactly like they do on the show as well as DJ Lance Rock and even Biz Markie was there! The girls were thrilled. Plus I absolutely loved how much audience participation occurred through out the entire performance. It seemed we were always up and on our feet singing along and dancing to the wacky Yo Gabba Gabba! songs that my girls rock out to at home every day. There were tons of little kids standing in the aisles jumping, shaking, and shimmying the sillies out – Alleigh and Kaelyn included. Even the food from “There’s A Party In My Tummy” made an appearance.
And so if you want to take your kiddos to a show that is sure to keep them entertained the entire time – not once did Alleigh or Kaelyn’s eyes leave the stage – I highly suggest checking out Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! Just be prepared to get on your feet to jump, dance, and sing. And don’t worry about looking silly because everyone will be participating – you’ll only look silly if you don’t join in on the fun! The Gabba crew has left Akron, Ohio but they just may be coming to a town near you. Check out the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! website for the full tour schedule and how to get tickets.
