Cleveland Cavaliers

My husband is a sports freak and currently the only thing that ever seems to be on our television is basketball.  His favorite NBA team is the Cleveland Cavaliers and so you can imagine how pumped he was when I asked if he would like to attend the Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Miami Heat.  I must admit I was pretty excited to go as well.  I’m a Cavs fan as well and it was cool to see Lebron James too.  When I was a senior in high school my school’s basketball team actually went to the final four where we were demolished by Lebron.  And so on Wednesday Dustin, Willow, and I made the drive up to Cleveland to see our first NBA game in person!

Quicken Loans Arena has made the Cavs game experience one the entire family can enjoy.  After we entered the building and were making our way to our seats I was impressed to see all of the free activities available to fans.  Including hair and face painting, temporary tattoos, and sign making – I thought Dustin should have gotten a half wine half gold hair spraying, but didn’t think he would go for that, hehe.

I hate down time….. like when time outs are taken or half time, but Quicken Loans Arena had that taken care of too.  There never seemed to be an ounce of down time.  Before the game started there was a minor technical difficulty with the score board that needed to be fixed before the game could begin, but while that was going on hilarious clips were being played on the Q-Tube that took everyone’s mind off of the delay.  During time outs there were performances by the Cavalier Girls and Scream Team.  Plus lots of appearances by the Cavs mascots – Sir C.C. and Moon Dog!

Even though the Cavs ended up being defeated by the Miami Heat we still had an awesome time and are looking forward to attending another game.  There are a few theme nights coming up soon that I know Alleigh and Kaelyn will enjoy attending so I can’t wait to take them for their first Cavs experience.

Superhero Night:  Cavs vs. Boston Celics
March 27th at 7PM
Have no fear! The Cleveland Cavaliers are here with Superhero Night!  To complete the Cavs superhero squadron, the first 5,000 children ages 14 and under will suit up with their very own Cavaliers Superhero Cape. The wine and gold drape will be available in two youth sizes and is designed with the power of “C”, prominently featuring the Cavs “Big C” logo in the cape’s center. The comic book action-packed night will jump from the page as The Q transforms with fun elements on the concourse, on-court and on Q-Tube throughout the night.

Moondog Night:  Cavs vs. Brooklyn Nets
April 3rd at 7PM
Everyone’s favorite Cavs canine will be honored with his very own Moondog Night!  The first 5,000 Children ages 14 and under in attendance will receive a Moondog jersey to celebrate the beloved mascot. Young fans will have their choice between two youth sizes of the wine-colored jersey which features Moondog’s name and signature moon-shaped paw print, just like the one he sports at Cavs games and around town. With an entire night dedicated to Moondog, there’s no telling what crazy antics will ensue.

The only thing on our tv is basketball, too! It drives me nuts. I will be happy when basketball is over. I do like going to games, though. 🙂

  7. Fun! My hubby would love to go to a basketball game here. We went a long time back before kids, but have not been since. He has been wanting to take our oldest to a game.

  8. Jenilee says:

I think the kids would have fun at a basketball game…we never go to sporting events, we’re not really a sportsy family, but I’m sure as all these boys get older we’ll become more interested.

  10. First of all I would like to say fantastic blog!

I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t
mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure
out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Many thanks!
