This past Thursday I finally decided to get Kaelyn’s hair cut for the first time. She will be three on April 30th and I figured it was about time, hehe. Since I had waited so long I was nervous she might be afraid to sit in the salon chair or scared of a strange person with scissors so close to her head. But turns out there was nothing to be worried about. She climbed right up into the chair and sat there like a big girl. We only got a few inches cut off to even everything up and I was so happy that her curls didn’t go away. In fact if anything it looks like her hair is even curlier now.

She was so proud of her hair cut and even got a little certificate!

My daughter was probably about 1 when we first “cut” her hair but all we ever do is trim it so it is even.
Aww. I remember my oldest son’s first hair cut. His hair was so long and so thick! We kept it cut in a ‘dutch boy cut’ for the longest time because I could not bear to cut it!!

She looks like such a big girl! So lucky, my 5 yo STILL has no hair to cut! lol It’s so fine and wispy, and it’s barely to her shoulders.
She’s gotten her bangs trimmed, but that’s it.
My daughter is 2 1/2, and still has yet to get her first hair cut.

We have been cutting our boys hair for quite some time. My hubby buzzes my oldest’s hair, but I take my youngest to the kids hair cut place in town.
Adorable! The weight of long hair can actually ‘pull the curls out’, so trimming it may very well make it curlier (I know this because my hair is naturally curly, but the longer it gets the less curl there is because of the weight. All of the curl is at the bottom and i end up looking like a mushroom head. It’s awesome. HA!)
All of my boys got their hair cut at about a year old, though I waited far longer for Connor because his is curly and I loved seeing his curls. For Brooke, I think I may have trimmed it when she was a few years old, but no major cut until 5 years old I think.

I have two boys so we didn’t wait all that long, they both had quite a bit of hair when they were born. My oldest gave us the hardest time and actually got snipped during his 2nd or 3rd haircut, he was moving around so much. i like the certificate, great idea!
