We’re Summer Ready with the Bummis Sun Line {Review & Giveaway}

On days like today in Ohio it’s hard to believe that summer will ever get here… it’s the end of April and we had snow flurries!  But I know that in a little over a month it will be pool weather and we’ll be spending tons of time outside.  My big girls love the pool as much as their momma and the last time we visited an indoor pool Willow seemed to love it as well.  Being outdoors means making sun safety a priority which is why I was so excited to see that the maker of one of my favorite cloth swim diapers, Bummis, had expanded their sun line!

Over the past few years I have featured Bummis on my blog a few times including detailed reviews of the Swimmi and Tankini.  In my most recent Bummis blog post I mentioned that I would love to see a color coordinating rash guard option become available in addition to the Tankini and was thrilled to learn that had become a reality plus sun caps too.

Willow recently received the bubbles print Swimmi and Sun Cap as well as orange UV-Tee to try out.  Since it’s not outdoor pool weather here yet we put the new sun line to the test while visiting the Splash Harbor Indoor Pool.

The UV-Tee is available in orange and turquoise which coordinate beautifully with all of the available Swimmi prints so you can mix and match each time you go swimming.  I love that the UV-Tee provides full coverage for Willow’s upper body to her elbows with a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50.  It is also made of swimsuit quality fabric so no worries about fading in chlorinated pools plus it’s very soft and has quite a bit of stretch to it.  In these photos Willow weighs about sixteen pounds and is wearing the 9-12 month UV-Tee recommended for 18-25 pounds with plenty of room to grow.

Besides being stinkin adorable the Bummis Sun Cap provides maximum sun protection for your little one’s head, face, neck, and shoulders.  It is available in all the same prints as the Swimmi in two styles – Floppy which has a wide brim and Flap which has a baseball style brim.  Plus just like the UV-Tee the Sun Caps have a UPF rating of 50.  The elastic around the back of the head works wonderfully at keeping the Sun Cap in place.  Willow typically isn’t a fan of hats, but she never tried to take the Sun Cap off which is going to make shielding her fair skin from the sun much easier this summer.

Not only am I a huge fan of the Bummis Sun Line, but I also love their company.   As much as possible they use fabrics and components that are sourced in North America and all materials are guaranteed lead, phthalate and BPA free.  Plus all of their products are made with careful attention to detail in a factory in the Montreal area so they are assured of good quality and fair labor practices. And so if you are looking for high quality swim wear for your little one that will protect them from the sun and is reasonably priced from a truly wonderful company then I highly suggest the Bummis Sun Line.  Because swimming is fun, but swimming in style is even better!

Be sure to visit the Bummis website to check out all the prints and colors available as well as where to purchase your own set.  And guess what!  Bummis has been super generous and offered an amazing giveaway.  One lucky Happenings of the Harper Household reader is going to win their very own Swimmi, UV-Tee, and Sun Cap.  To enter fill out the giveaway tools entry form below.  Good luck!
