Life changes rapidly.  Babies don’t stay little long.  Those moments need to be captured and preserved.  I take pictures of my girls on a daily basis using my point & shoot camera and smart phone, but I am most definitely not a photographer.  Even if I had a fancy schmancy camera I would still not be a photographer.  So much goes into becoming a successful photographer beyond having the equipment.  So much learning, practicing, editing skills, and much more.  Today I am excited to introduce you to an amazing photographer that never ceases to amaze me with each picture she takes.

Jennifer is the owner of Jennifer Madden Photography and has been photographing newborns, babies and children since 2010.  She knows all too well how fast babies grow because her own “baby” will be 5 in August.  That’s one of the reasons she loves photographing babies and children so much, to freeze moments so that parents will never forget. Her pictures have created a pause button allowing me to keep Willow little forever and remember moments that otherwise might slowly disappear from my memory – like the breastfeeding session we did this past week.

Jennifer loves every minute of her job and I can truly say I have witnessed that love through the sessions I have had with her.  So many times I have seen her snap a picture of Willow and peer at the image she has captured on her camera screen with a giddy smile on her face.  Jennifer’s absolute favorite age to photograph is newborns under two weeks of age because they grow and change so fast.  During those early weeks many moms are so tired and learning how to adjust to life with a newborn that taking pictures is the last thing on their mind.  By booking a session with Jennifer that short window of time will be forever frozen to look back on when those peaceful sleepy newborns have turned into crazy rambunctious toddlers, hehe.   One of Jennifer’s biggest regrets is not having newborn shots done of her son which is why she receives so much joy in watching new moms tear up with happiness as they see their slide show for the first time.

Now what about her style?  Jennifer is so laid back and loves to go with the flow.  Her photography has been described as classic, fresh, and passionate – modern posing mixed with vintage processing.  Her images have a light and airy feel that literally relaxes you just from looking at them.  Her studio is located in Alliance, Ohio and is geared towards photographing newborns, babies, toddlers, and small children.  Couples, families, and Seniors must be shot outdoors, but she also enjoy shooting little ones outdoors as well.  Plus Jennifer has a huge collection of photography props including a vintage high chair, baby pram, and much much more.  She even has the most adorable strawberry box which was a match made in heaven for Willow’s Gymboree strawberry outfit.  I can’t wait to see what props she chooses to use for Willow’s one year photo session.

Safety is Jennifer’s priority.  She captures very creative shots through composite photography such as this image.  The horse was no where near the baby and mom was beside her little one while in the crate the entire time.  I truly appreciate that she explains this when posting images on Facebook so that others do not try attempting a picture like this in one take at home.

Since Jennifer loves watching beautiful babies grow into fun, energetic toddlers she is giving away a free membership to her Grow With Me program. This program includes 6, 12 and 18 month sessions with 15 images from each session on a CD with consent to reproduce. I am currently doing this program with Willow and instead of having the ages set in stone Jennifer has been working with me to capture milestones.  Instead of having the 6 month pictures taken as soon as Willow was 6 months we waited until she could sit up unassisted which ended up being a little over 7 months old.  Her next session will be at 12 months old and I am excited to do some smash cake pictures.  The sessions can be in studio or at an outdoor location. The only requirement aside from being local to the Alliance area or willing to travel there is that the child must be no older than 5 months old now or if pregnant have a due date that is in September 2013 or sooner.

my baby Cora is just short of 4 months. while we live in Illinois right now, both of our families are based in the OH akron/cincy/toledo areas so it would be awesome to be able to photos done paired with a trip home! with our first we did 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 12 month photos but the cost is huge, of course. so this would help with that!

Jenny: I'll try to get hold of a copy of The Illusionist. I liked the Prestige movie, though it was contrived, and full of improbabilities. What were the old shows you mentioned like? You mean things like disappearing elephants?I'm surprised that you think I ignore your recommendations. I always take recommendations seriously.

There are certainly a number of details like that to take into consideration. That is a nice point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration however clearly there are questions just like the one you carry up where a very powerful thing will likely be working in trustworthy good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged round things like that, however I’m positive that your job is clearly identified as a good game. Both girls and boys really feel the influence of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
