Amazing.  Yup, that pretty much sums up my experience at The Package Tour at Quicken Loans Arena yesterday evening.  But that wouldn’t make for a very interesting blog post now would it? Hehe.  And so let me tell you just what made it so amazing and why I still have “Step by step ooh baby / Gonna get to you girl” and “Let’s don’t wait till the water runs dry / We’ll make the biggest mistake of our lives / Don’t do it baby” and so many more lyrics still running through my head over twenty-four hours later.

I was literally counting down the days to this concert.  I was so pumped because these were {and still are} three of my favorite bands growing up.  I remember listening to New Kids On The Block on cassettes in my boom box while laying on my New Kids On The Block Comforter and playing with my New Kids On The Block dolls – which by the way I still have!  I remember listening to Boyz II Men on my Walkman laying out in the sun on my trampoline (admit it…. you did that too!).  And I remember 98 Degrees blaring through the middle school gym while dancing awkwardly with my crush.

Then yesterday after about 20ish years of loving these bands and their music I finally got to experience them in real life with my mom and Willow.  Yes, I took Willow to a concert…. but trust me I made sure to protect her little delicate ears with some Em’s 4 Bubs Hearing Protection Baby Earmuffs which are available in lots of fun colors and fit from 0-18 months with a stretchy headband that is also very comfortable on their little heads.

When we arrived at The Quicken Loans Arena I was amazed by the sheer volume of women in their late 20s to 40s that were filling up the seats.  It was definitely a full house and everyone was just as stoked as I was to be there.  When Boyz II Men appeared on stage the crowd went wild.  I told my hubby that I think we were all crazier than tweens at a Bieber concert, hehe.

Everything about this concert was over the top awesome.  The stage set up was perfect.  From our seats there was a stage on the far left where the bands would begin singing.  They would then make their way down a ramp and through a wide aisle that went right through the crowd where lots of lucky women got to touch their favorite singers hands and the majority of the performance took place on the center stage.  During the Boyz II Men set tons of confetti fell from the ceiling and they tossed dozens of individual roses out to women in the first few rows of the audience.

Next it was time for 98 Degrees which was my mom’s favorite part of the evening.  During some of their songs the center stage began rotating!  And they even selected some lucky ladies from the audience to come up on stage, sit on tall stools, and sang to them!!  Some serious envy right here and I ain’t afraid to admit it, hehe.

After a brief intermission it was time for what I had been anxiously waiting all night and pretty much twenty years for… New Kids On The Block!  They appeared on stage in a cloud of fog and totally rocked it.  There was fire, smoke, confetti, giant balloons falling from the ceiling.  The rotating stage lifted high into the air.  Individual towers lifted into the air.  They brought a very very lucky girl on stage and danced rather provocatively all around her.  They worked their way out into the audience while singing.  And shirts even came off.  It was the most awesome concert I have ever been to.

The concert started at 7:30 on the dot and lasted til a little after 11PM with a very short intermission.  The entire performance was amazing.  I can honestly say that any other concert I attend is going to have a lot to live up to.  If you are a fan of Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, or New Kids On The Block then you have to go – seriously HAVE TO GO.  Check out The Package Tour website to find out when they will be stopping near you… this can’t be missed.
