Alleigh and Kaelyn love playing outside which means mama and Willow are also outside all the time.  Since Willow is now a super active 12 month old it’s pretty hard to keep her happy just sitting in a stroller and she doesn’t want to be held all the time either.  This little munchkin wants down so she can crawl around and play like the big kids.  The problem is if I just sit her down in the grass to play she will inevitably end up eating it or trying to crawl away.  Neither of which is much fun for mama.  But I found my solution with the Joovy Moon Room which is definitely not your typical playard.

Upon receiving our Joovy Moon Room I was pleased to find that it included a carrying bag and folded up just like a traditional playard.

Setting up the Joovy Moon Room was super simple.  I sat it upright and then lifted the four top rails until they locked in place.  While lifting one leg off the ground I pushed the center of the floor down.  The floor pad can then be set inside the playard and the Velcro straps fed through the slots to secure.

I absolutely love the unique design of this playard.  It is truly like nothing I have ever seen before.  This unique shape gives over 10 square feet of space to play or nap and plenty of awesome views for Willow.  She can sprawl completely out and still has tons of extra space!

Of course the Joovy Moon Room is made of the same high quality materials as other Joovy playards.  The 600D nylon fabric is super durable and available in purpleness, black, and charcoal.  Of course with a house full of girls we had to go with purpleness!  The mesh is very strong plus you can see through it with no problem which is perfect for Willow to be able to look out and for me to be able to see her no matter where I am in the yard.  At the moment her favorite thing to do is cruise around the perimeter checking everything out.

There’s even enough space that a friend can join in on the fun!  The slanted walls give this playard a lot more space and doesn’t give the feeling of being trapped in a rectangular box.  The kiddos had a blast.

I will admit that the Joovy Moon Room is a tad cumbersome to carry around at 27.5 pounds, but for the most part we use this as a play area in our own yard so I am only carrying it a short distance.  That little bit of weight is a small price to pay for the huge amount of space it gives Willow to safely play while her sisters ride their bikes and scooters outside.   I also love that the floor pad is machine washable.  Simply unzip, remove floor boards, wash on a cold gentle cycle, then air dry.  Do NOT put in the dryer.  There is also a pocket to hold the Joovy Moon Room instructions on the floor pad so be sure to take those out before tossing it in the washing machine as well.

If you are looking for a playard that will give your little one tons of room to play and move around while keeping them safe I highly recommend the Joovy Moon Room – it’s out of this world!

I love how big this is, and so cool for some fun but controlled outdoor play. I have a little one with three big brothers, so I can definitely relate to the dilemma.

That looks awesome! I’ll have to keep that in mind when we have our next child.

  3. I love this! The unique shape and the color 🙂 Great photos!

I like the modern look of it. Does it hold a decent amount of weight as well? Would this not be a good one for a traveling system due to the weight, you think?

    • Hi Tiffany – I checked the website and could not find a weight limit so I am trying to get an answer on that for ya. There is a height limit which is 35″. Regarding the weight… most playards are about this same weight or more, especially if they have extra things like changing tables/storage areas so I wouldn’t let the weight deter me from using it to travel. I really just find all playards a bit cumbersome to carry around which is why I usually make the hubby do it. Hehe!!
