Ever since Alleigh first started trick-or-treating we have gone to Dustin’s grandma’s neighborhood since that is where he trick-or-treated growing up. We start at her house and work our way through the neighborhood to his aunt’s house. The only difference this year was that we had a dressed up dog accompany us and the girls had their homemade costumes on. The girls were told over and over how adorable their costumes were and how much everyone loved their homemade costumes. I secretly loved hearing it every single time and especially loved hearing Alleigh say “Thanks! My mom made them for … …..
Thefts seem to be happening in my neighborhood more than I care to admit. It’s also happened to us with our cars a few times. That thought crosses my mind pretty frequently when I’m coming and going all weird hours of the night (life of a night shift nurse!). Thankfully, there’s a new free app that can help me get a little peace of mind when I’m in those situations called React Mobile. React Mobile helps you turn your phone into a powerful lifeline with two key components. First, the React Mobile app has an emergency indicator built in. Any … …..
Like any other mom, I care a lot about my kids’ safety. One way that I can easily ensure safety to the best of my ability is in selecting and properly installing the best car seats for my kids. As a former Emergency Room nurse, I’ve seen the effects of correctly installed and used car seats. Unfortunately, I’ve also seen the effects of incorrectly used cars eats. Because of this, car seat safety is near and dear to my heart. Also like any other mom, my baby is growing up fast… too fast. In fact, he’s ready to say goodbye … …..
How many times have you put your kids to bed for the night and plopped down on the couch only to stare at the television for who knows how long before realizing that cartoons are still on the screen? It’s happened to me far more times than I care to admit, hehe. The good news is if you have the television turned to the Nick Jr. channel it will automatically become NickMom TV at 10PM every single night with shows you actually want to watch. One of those shows is Instant Mom starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict as Stephanie who is instantly … …..
This post is sponsored by The Stork and The Motherhood. However, all opinions are my own. Dustin and I were very blessed when we decided to start a family. After just one month of trying to conceive I was thrilled to see two pink lines appear on my pregnancy test, but did you know there are currently approximately 7.3 million couples in the United States that are having difficulty conceiving? Many different things can contribute to fertility issues including environmental and lifestyle factors. When diagnosing fertility issues 40% are attributed to males with problems including higher estrogen levels resulting in … …..
After some thought I have decided to continue the weekly Watch Willow Grow updates. I love being able to look back on these journals and see how she has changed and when she learned to do new things. Hopefully you enjoy reading them and looking at the pictures just as much. If you’ve been reading them for a year then I suppose you do, hehe. And so welcome to the second year of Willow’s life… PICTURES FROM WILLOW’S 62nd WEEK WHAT WILLOW’S DAYS & NIGHTS ARE LIKE… Sleeping: Sleep has been decent this week….. waking up once in the middle … …..
Tomorrow is trick-or-treat! Oh how I love trick-or-treat… always trying to convince my kids to pick the Reese’s when their an option, hehe. As everyone knows the most important part of trick-or-treat is picking the best Halloween costume. Now since I am a tad bit OCD I must have my kiddos in themed costumes – MUST. It took a bit of convincing this year and lots of suggestions, but we finally settled on characters from Despicable Me 2. The vast majority of these costumes were super simple and relatively inexpensive to put together. The hardest part was all the running … …..
I have a love affair with my iPhone. I’ll admit it. I cannot go anywhere without it! I’ve noticed lately, however, that my 3 year old is developing a love affair with it too. I’ve slowly added some games and entertainment for him (great for those long doctor’s office waits!), and I often find him sitting with my phone playing a game or two when I’m not paying attention. I have tried to include games that make him think or be creative, and I’ve recently found a new app that does just that – PlayTown: My Story Maker. PlayTown is … …..
This post is sponsored by Weight Watchers and The Motherhood. I received a 3-month trial subscription to Weight Watchers Online. However, all opinions are my own. I remember a time long long ago… ok, well 5 years ago… when I could buy a magazine, find a comfy place to sit – sometimes even in the bath tub – and read that baby cover to cover. Now I’m a mom and if you are a mom too then you know “ain’t nobody got time for that!” If I tried to sit down and read a magazine cover to cover now I … …..
It’s no secret that I love baby wearing. I love that big grin Willow gets on her face when she sees me buckle one of my Boba carriers around me waist. And of course I share an overload of pictures of her enjoying the ride as well. We baby wear to bond. We baby wear to breastfeed on the go. We baby wear to cure the grumps. We baby wear for all the snuggles. We baby wear to grocery shop. We baby wear to keep up with the big sisters. And best of all we baby wear just because we … …..
