It’s October which just so happens to be my favorite time of year.  I love everything about autumn.  The vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows that transform the trees into beautiful works of art.  Visiting the pumpkin patch to find that perfect pumpkin for carving.  Choosing trick-or-treat costumes for the kiddos.  Indulging in all that tasty candy they gather – they love sharing with me – I swear! Hehe.  Speaking of yummy candy Starburst has released a new twist on a traditional Halloween candy – candy corn!

Starburst Candy Corn is made with the same bright fruity juicy flavors and colors found in Starburst Original Fruit Chews, but has been combined with the iconic shape and texture of candy corn.  Simply put this is candy corn that actually tastes good!  But just like regular candy corn that is only available around Halloween the same goes for Starburst Candy Corn.  This tasty treat will only be available for a limited time through October 2013.

To inspire people to join in on the Halloween spirit, Starburst Candy Corn partnered with entertaining guru, mom, and TV personality, Tori Spelling, to create Tori’s Tasty Tips for Halloween Entertaining.  Tori has lots of wonderful tips and crafts which can be found on the Starburst Candy Corn Facebook page including Candied Cupcakes, Festive Favors, Picture-Perfect Place Cards, Noteworthy Napkin Rings, and lots more.  Combine them all to make a deliciously gorgeous Halloween party.  I plan to pick up a bag to make the Candied Cupcakes for Alleigh’s kindergarten fall harvest party.

I love decorating for fall and so when I saw Tori’s Perfectly-Pleasing Picture Frame I knew it would look fabulous on our fireplace mantle amongst all of my other fall decor.  The supply list is small but the wow factor is big.

Supplies:  Starburst Candy Corn, Solid Flat Front Picture Frame (any size), Glue Gun, and Krylon Clear Gloss Finish (optional).

Directions:  Lay out the Starburst Candy Corn on the frame in any pattern you prefer.  Be sure to alternate the direction of the pieces so they ft together and cover the majority of the frame.  Once you have the pattern just right use the hot glue gun to secure the candy corn in place.  I chose to then spray the entire frame with Krylon Clear Gloss Finish to give it a nice shine.

Once the Krylon Clear Gloss Finish dries place your favorite fall inspired picture inside.  I just adore this photo of Willow from last year.

Next time you’re at the store be sure to grab a couple bags of Starburst Candy Corn.  A few to eat and a few to decorate.

Have you tried the new Starburst Candy Corn yet?  What did you think?

This looks really cute! I think this is something the kids would like to help with (other than the Krylon spray!) I know my little girl will want to create a colorful pattern!

I love how your picture frame came out! Super cute. Did adding the clear gloss help the candy hold up better? I’m wondering if I should try it on my project…

    • Thanks Tamara! I do think adding the clear gloss helped to make it a bit more durable so I would definitely suggest giving your project a coat or two… by the way I hopped on over to check your project out and I just LOVE it! I am highly considering buying some more just to do that!

No one in my family likes the taste of candy corn, so this is a perfect way to use our candy corn that the kids gather on Halloween! Will have to try this craft! 🙂

  7. Rachel says:

This is really cute! I wonder how long until the candy corn starts decomposing…

I love the idea of using candy corn from Trick-Or-Treating for a craft, as our family does not like candy corn (but perhaps the Starburst flavors are better than the traditional). The candy corn also makes a really nice pattern on the frame; thrifty and seasonal! : )
