The Best-Ever Bib from Bummis Review & Giveaway

When it came time to introduce Willow to solids we decided to take the baby led weaning approach.  If you’re not familiar with baby led weaning it is where instead of starting with cereals or purees you simply give your child whole pieces of food and allow them to feed themselves.  The thought process behind this is that the child will learn how to chew their food before they learn how to swallow it.  This also means that when learning how to chew their food it gets spit out a lot and there are lots of messes.  Willow needed a bath after nearly every meal in the early stages of our baby led weaning journey.  She has drastically improved her skills of getting food from plate to mouth and down into her belly, but she still manages to get quite messy.  But instead of a bath after every meal we just needed a really good bib.

I found that bib at Bummis.  The same company that makes amazing cloth diapers and accessories has now added the Best-Ever Bib to their line up.

I bet you’re wondering if this bib lives up to it’s name and the answer is YES! For me there are three important features a bib must have to avoid frustration and the urge to just toss it in the trash. The Bummis Best-Ever Bib meets all of those requirements – yay!

First and most importantly a bib must keep my little one’s shirt clean and dry which means a high quality material is necessary.  So many bibs are made of thin cloth and if eating juicy foods like some of Willow’s favorite – watermelon and cantaloupe – it soaks right through, but not with the Bummis Best-Ever Bib.  This bib is made from the same fabric as the Bummis Waterproof Wraps (2 layers of soft polyester fabric with a durable waterproof layer concealed within) – they even match.  If it can contain everything that comes out of the bottom end of your child then some watermelon at lunch or spaghetti at dinner will be easy peasy.  Plus their machine washable!

Secondly a bib needs to stay on.  Willow is the master of bib removal.  The bibs that slip over babies head…. ya, she can whip those off in seconds.  Velcro bibs?  She can yank those off just as fast not to mention how quickly Velcro wears out with each wash and the dreaded daisy chain that gets pulled out of the dryer.  None of these problems exist with the Bummis Best-Ever Bib.  It’s nickel free adjustable plastic snaps are made to last and won’t scratch your little one’s delicate skin or pull their hair.  Plus it’s hard for little hands to pull off – even bib masters like Willow.

And third – a bib needs to help keep my floor clean.  I kept telling Dustin we needed to get a dog to clean up the mess, but really all we needed was the Bummis Best-Ever bib which was turned out to be much more cost effective and doesn’t shed all over my house, hehe.  The answer is in the large catch-all pocket.  All that food that falls out of you munchkin’s mouth will land right inside that handy dandy pocket instead of on the floor – so convenient.

Not only will your child stay clean in this bib, but you can also feel confident knowing they are safe in it as well because all fabrics and components are guaranteed lead, phthalate, and BPA free.  The fabric is all made in the United States and the bibs are sewn and snapped in Canada – team work at it’s best!  You’ll be amazed at the affordable price and your baby will be amazed at how clean they stay… Willow was shocked, hehe.

Head on over to the Bummis website and check out all the adorable patterns to choose from including boy, girl, and gender neutral.  But first enter the giveaway below to win one of your very own – good luck!

I’d choose the Rocket bib. All 4 of my kids have mastered getting out of their bibs.
    Thanks for the chance.

I’d probably choose the Froggy design! My grandson could really use this as he gets really messy during mealtime!
