What’s the first thing that pops into your mind when reading the words “Radio Flyer”?  I’m willing to be it’s a bright shiny red wagon.  You’ll still find that classic red wagon on the Radio Flyer website available for purchase.  But you’ll also find modern wagons, tricycles, scooters, and other ride-on toys.  All of which are designed to spark imagination and inspire active play.  One of the newest toys released by Radio Flyer is the Ride 2 Glide which Willow was more than willing to give a test drive.

Obviously my first step was to open the box and lay out all the pieces and parts so I could get assembling.  When I first opened the box I thought we were missing a wheel, but it was tucked under the seat that lifts off – I’m only telling ya this so you don’t go crazy wondering where that third wheel is, hehe.  There are quite a few pieces to assemble and you will also need a screwdriver, wrench, and hammer which are not included.

However, the instructions were very easy to understand and within roughly thirty minutes I had the Ride 2 Glide assembled and Willow was ready to roll.

My favorite part about the Ride 2 Glide is that it will grow with Willow from 1 to 4 years old.  At 14 months old she loves sitting on it and scooting around in the ride-on mode, but as she gets older it is easily transformed into a three wheel scooter by simply raising the handle bar and moving the seat to the front – no tools needed!  In fact it is so simple that the different riding configurations can be switched in approximately two minutes – if that – so Willow and Kaelyn can take turns enjoying the Ride 2 Glide.

The storage basket is also a fun feature which can be used in both configurations.  It’s the perfect size to carry Willow’s sippy cup and small toys around and deep enough that they won’t fall out.

I am very pleased with the high quality of the Ride 2 Glide, but that doesn’t surprise me as Radio Flyer has never disappointed me.  I am sure this toy will will still be going strong once Willow passes the recommended age range of 1 to 4 years old.  For now she is having a blast scooting around the house.

The Ride 2 Glide would make a wonderful gift on Christmas morning – just imagine those bright eyes when they see a shiny red Radio Flyer under the Christmas tree.  Plus mom and dad will be happy too because this beauty which is really two toys in one is a very affordable $39.99!
