Because Babies Are Messy – The InGenuity Washable Playard

As a working mom, my kids spend time with other childcare providers beside my husband and myself. Lucky for me, my family has always been there to help us raise our kids and provide that care when we can’t. Since I also work nights, my kids usually spend at least one night per week with mamaw and papaw. Since we’ve had at least one kiddo in a crib almost constantly for the last 4 years, portable cribs come in very handy. So I was super excited to get the new InGenuity Washable Playard Deluxe!

So I’ll admit that I’m no newbie when it comes to playards. Ours have been everywhere from Disney World to West Virginia to Tennessee and back again. But the Ingenuity Washable Playard has a few features that beat out all of the other competition.

First, it has a genius changing table that attaches at a convenient “Just Right Height”, but then easily pivots over the side of the playard out of the way. It’s a simple one-handed operation that’s easy to do with a baby in hand, and allows for full access to the inside of the playard. It also has an optional “Store Right Solutions” storage tray that’s perfect for diapers, wipes, and toys that are convenient to have during diaper changes.

Oh yeah, and all of the fabric is completely machine washable (smart title, right?). And I mean, unzip the zippers, take it off the frame, and literally throw it in the washer. Every single piece of fabric comes right off. Whether its covered in baby spit up, toddler snacks, the dreaded poo-plosion, or what have you, it comes off and can be cleaned! Plus, check out the cute Sumner print… it’s super cute for my boys, but would also be perfect if girl McClurg ever came along, hehe.

The Washable Playard Deluxe comes with a super easy-to-install shallow bassinet for smaller babies. Ezra is just ready to move on to the deeper portion of the playard, but the bassinet came in handy for gently putting him down without waking him. And of course, when it’s time to go in the wash, you can simply unzip and unsnap it for incredibly easy cleanup.

For travel, the Washable Playard Deluxe packs up nicely in a carrying bag with a handle, although it is a bit heavy. However, with a high quality playard like this, some weight is worth the stability. I’ll just make the hubby do the heavy lifting, hehe.

Set up is a breeze. It’s as easy as pulling it out of the bag, pulling up the sides, and pushing down the bottom. If needed, you can quickly zip in the bassinet. Plus, the wheels on the bottom allow for you to set up the playard and then easily move it to where it’s needed.

Even better, it has a unique One Less Step system that allows it to be packed up and away without removing the bassinet. Yay for easier baby items, right?!

Lastly, the toys… Ezra’s favorite part! Keeping with the cute gender-neutral print, there is a soft plush ladybug and snail that fit across a toy bar. Now that Ezra can sit independently, the toys can keep him occupied for a bit. There’s also a small Soothing Sounds Station that fits easily around the top bar that plays 5 different songs and 3 nature sounds.

The awesome features like the Just Right Height pivoting changing table, washable EVERYTHING, and One Less Step system when packing up make the Washable Playard Deluxe our new go to system. So if you’re in the market for a playard, head on over to InGenuity’s and check out why it would be a great fit for you too!
