Like most women I love shoes and have way more than I could ever really need, but what I didn’t have was a pair of rain boots. Now that spring is on the way I realized that I truly needed a pair because the snow storms are slowly turning into rain showers creating puddles everywhere. Plus all that lovely snow we received all winter has finally melted causing it to be a ridiculously muddy mess. Of course no plain boring pair of rain boots would every do. I wanted something colorful with a fun pattern that would bring some cheer and happiness to gloomy rainy days.
I found just what I was looking for at Nomad Footwear.
First a bit about the company….
In 1997, two shoe salesmen wandered from city to city, store to store, inspired by an idea that would transcend into something they never thought imaginable. Their dream was to build a brand that would represent the free-spirited individual; the individual who followed trends and appreciated fashion, but never forgot who they truly were. Hence, Nomad was born; representative of their own ideals, as well as the nomadic attitude that lives within each “nomad” girl.
Being one of the pioneers of the high EVA foam sandal, Nomad Footwear journeyed from the junior fashion market, making its mark in the shoe industry. Since then, Nomad Footwear has transformed its styles to shoes like the Cork Wedge, creating styles that could be worn by any girl, day or night.
The logo of the little red man encompasses the ideals of Nomad Footwear. Like the vibrantly colored historical figure, Nomad Footwear has continued stay true to the origins of their company, passionately striving to create shoes that not only provide comfort, but also original styles and versatility to all of its loyal customers. Creating fashionable sandals, flip flops, flats and rain boots that any free spirited-girl would love to journey in, it’s no wonder why people everywhere choose to “wander off and be a Nomad…”
And now let’s talk about the boots…
There are so many boots to choose from at Nomad Footwear including casual, cowboy, and rubber rain boots. I was amazed by the huge of rain boots. When shopping at local stores there might be one or two neutral colors to choose from but I have never seen any fun colors or designs for adults. There were so many to choose from that it took me a few days to finally narrow it down to the pair I wanted to review. I finally settled on Puddles brown and coral chevron because I love coral and I love chevron making this pair absolutely perfect for me.
These rain boots have a one inch heel height and I love the adjustable strap which allows me to get a nice tight fit around my calf. The Puddles style is only available in whole sizes and the Nomad site recommends that they run large, but from my experience I find that they seem rather true to size. I ordered an 8 since I typically wear an 8 1/2 and they are rather snug on me. I think that a size 9 would have been a bit more comfortable with some thick socks. Nomad rain boots are water resistant, but not waterproof so it is recommended to not wear them in extreme weather conditions. They’ve worked wonderfully for me when stomping through puddles, but I wouldn’t wear them to go wading in a pond.
There are so many other shoes that I want from the Nomad Footwear website….. sandals, flats, wedges, heels, boots, and even some kid shoes too. Be sure to head over and check them out. And if you do be sure to use the March Madness coupon code “MAD10” which will score you $10 off a purchase of $75 or more through March 31st 2014. But first enter the giveaway below because one lucky reader is going to win a pair of their choice! Good luck!
