Ever since becoming a mom over six years ago I have become much more aware of the chemicals that are present in our home and in the products we are using on ourselves and our children. That is why one of my favorite companies is Burt’s Bees. When using a Burt’s Bees product I know I can expect the scent and texture of the best nature has to offer including clary sage, chamomile, aloe, pomegranate, willow bark, and bees wax. And not only are we getting nature at it’s best, but we’re also receiving science that actually works. That’s because all Burt’s Bees products have been carefully formulated to sustain your skin’s equilibrium of temperature, moisture, and nutrients. For these reasons and more I can feel completely confident using their personal care products on myself and my children
But it’s not just chemicals in the products we apply to our skin, hair, or lips that we need to worry about – chemicals and pesticides can also be found in the clothing we wear. The lovely folks at Ayablu Inc realized this as they were welcoming their own babies into the world and looked to the marketplace for natural and organic clothing that was soft and snuggly, but most importantly free of chemicals and pesticides, to be near their children’s skin. When they didn’t find what they were looking for they set out to create it themselves. Ayablu Inc found their partner in the amazing Burt’s Bees company! Together they envisioned and created Burt’s Bees Baby in 2012 which I am excited to share with you today.
I honestly didn’t know that Burt’s Bees Baby existed until their clothing started being available locally. You can currently find them at select Babies ‘R Us locations – one of which happens to be in North Canton, Ohio. After the hubby and I toured the hospital that Baby Harper #4 will be born at in November we stopped by to check out all the adorable Burt’s Bees Baby outfits available at our store.
We found Burt’s Bees Baby in both the girls and boys sections. The girl options were a beautiful combination of light pink, gray, and white while the boys were gray and white which is great gender neutral option. I did check out the Burt’s Bees Baby website and there are light blue, gray, and white pieces available as well. I absolutely loved all the attention to detail on each piece. So cute!
But even more important than how absolutely adorable the Burt’s Bees Baby clothing is to look at is what’s not in it. No chemicals. No pesticides. Everything that is made at Burt’s Bees Baby has been crafted with the same mission as Burt’s Bees which is why each item is constructed out of pure and natural 100% organic cotton. Curious about what is so special about 100% organic cotton?
- Organic cotton is a natural and breathable fiber – it feels wonderful against the skin.
- Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
- Organic farming methods support the land and the ecosystems around them.
- Organic cotton is never grown from genetically modified seed.
- Organic farming provides a viable alternative to the large-scale conventional farming model.
- Organic cotton washes well, holds up beautifully wash after wash, gets even softer over time, all while maintaining a great fit.
We selected a few pieces for Baby Harper #4 in newborn sizes so she will be able to wear them right away. In fact I am certain these choices will be placed right in to our hospital bag.
