All three of my girls have sensitive skin, but that sensitivity really seems to be amplified in their first year of life.  They never reacted well to the  vast majority of well known baby shampoos and lotions which would leave their their delicate newborn skin rough and dry.  I remember Alleigh having super rough patches behind her ears and Kaelyn having them in the creases of her elbows.  It drove me nuts!  Kaelyn also had really bad cradle cap which was extremely difficult to deal with because she was born with the thickest hair of any baby I had ever seen.  For these reasons and more I am always keeping a look out for products made from all-natural and organic ingredients which is why I was very excited to have the opportunity to try out Baby Mantra.

Baby Mantra was created by two sisters, Nupoor and Vinnie, committed to a natural and organic lifestyle.  Their deep appreciation for natural skin care was ingrained in them at a very young age as their mother relied greatly on the use of all-natural home-based remedies. This not only enriched them with an incredibly healthy lifestyle but also gave them great passion for all things natural.  They wanted to utilize these same techniques when they had children of their own as well as share it with the rest of the world which led to the birth of Baby Mantra – a certified natural, cruelty-free and gluten-free baby skincare line that offers environmentally conscious products from ingredients to packaging.  These products safeguard baby soft skin by forming a natural barrier to lock in moisture and guarantees healthy skin for years to come thanks to their pure natural ingredients which include avocado, lavender, sunflower seed, shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, jojoba, wheat germ, aloe vera, apricot, coconut, and grape seed.  By visiting the “Our Ingredients” page on the Baby Mantra website you can learn even more about each of these wonderful ingredients.  Plus all of their products are made in the United States – it doesn’t get much better than that!

I am a huge fan of bath products that serve more than one function so I was really excited to try out the 3-in-1 bubble bath, shampoo + wash.  We love lavender essential oil and use it nightly to help the girls sleep better at night so having it in their shampoo and body wash is wonderful.

And as you can see Willow was rather stoked about the bubble bath.  It is important to note that since this is a natural bubble bath it will not bubble up like synthetic bubble baths.  And so to initiate the bubbling process you will need to shake them under vigorously running water at the start of tub filing.

As I mentioned earlier Kaelyn has crazy thick hair which is also very curly.  I dread combing her hair after bath time because it always results in tears and yelling so anything that can help that process is a winner in my book.  And so we gave the Baby Mantra Detangling Conditioner a try.  It contains soothing aloe and witch hazel which work together to ease the toughest of tangles and nourishing coconut oil and shea butter to strenghen hair.  I was rather shocked at how easy her hair combed out after bath time and it did all this without weighing her curls down.  I can definitely say Kaelyn will be getting the Baby Mantra Detangling Conditioner treatment at every bath time.

In about five weeks our new little bundle of joy will be arriving and I am nearly positive I have the perfect newborn bath and bed time routine all ready for her.  When we battled the cradle cap with Kaelyn as a newborn I actually rubbed straight olive oil on to her scalp before bath time so I am really hopeful that if Baby Harper #4 has the same problem the Baby Mantra Newborn Shampoo + Body Wash will help since it contains coconut and olive oil.  I also gave the calming lotion a try on Willow and I loved how quickly it rubbed in and how soft it left her skin feeling.  Not greasy at all!

I so needed this when my son was little. He had those rough patches behind his ears & thick cradle cap too. Hardly anything seemed to work & it took me forever to finally get baby soft skin all over.

In the heat of summer, make a chilled pumpkin soup that will keep you cool as a cucumber.
Cut the leaves with sharp knife or use a mini cookie cutter.

Beneficial claims of using olive oil are reduction of

reducing the risk of blood clotting and strokes.
