Story time has always been an integral part of daily routines with our boys, and now even more so since Aiden gets to bring home a new set of books each week from his preschool. But I’ve noticed more and more that Aiden has become interested in picking out books and looking at them on his own, trying to find letters and sounds that he recognizes. When I learned that American Story Channel was going to be coming out with a brand new app called Kazaz! that allows children to not only read, but also to interact and experience original stories in a more animated way, I knew that the older boys would really enjoy it. Kazaz! has been non-stop fun for the boys since they started reading and exploring with it.

Kazaz! Original Story App

Kazaz! is an original story app that allows the boys to experience a story through sight, sound, and touch, that can be utilized alone or with friends and family. It includes different stories that they can follow along with, listen to, and then after the second reading, they can interact with the story by finding hidden gems of information and fun animations. A story can simply be read in 10 minutes, or expanded to an interactive 3-D world that can last up to an hour or more. Plus, up to 3 individual profiles can be created to allow different children to have tailored experiences and their individual progress tracked.

The app begins on the magical planet of Kazaz with its many interactive attractions and islands, each different and with a unique set of original stories. The bottom of the screen contains a filmstrip travelogue with all of the places to go and stories to read for easy navigation. Included is the free story, The Magic of Kazaz, which explains to the reader how Kazaz was created.

After exploring the Magic of Kazaz, 2 other stories are currently available- I Am the Music Man and The Story of Wooding. I Am the Music Man is probably the boys’ favorite story right now, because it tells the story through a musical melody with interactive musical instruments that make sounds. The Story of Wooding is also very fun and follows a young swan on a fantastical journey. I Am the Music Man is $1.99 and The Story of Wooding is $2.99, but both are currently FREE through October 26th with the Kazaz! app. Future plans for Kazaz! include numerous stories in multiple languages, 3D figures in gold and silver, and an animated children’s series.

Plus, Kazaz! includes lots of extra features, including their official newspaper- KazazPost.com– featuring behind-the-scenes insights on production, staff, and upcoming events in the world of Kazaz!, as well as KazazKids.com (with areas for 3 specific groups- kids, parents, and grandparents), where children can experience imaginative play with real-life 3D figures based on Kazaz! characters. Families can order 3-D print-on-demand collectibles through the Kazaz! Kids web site for an additional fee. Later this fall, families will be able to print a free gift, along with other items at home using their own 3-D printers. They also plan to utilize Apple TV and their developing Kazaz!Kids YouTube Channel for extended fun. Check out the video below for an inside look at Kazaz!
