We’ve had some pretty crazy weather over the last few weeks, and my boys are definitely getting stir crazy. There seems to only be so many coloring pages, puzzles, and preschool games that can fill the time. Luckily, one of my boys’ favorite shows, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, has a brand new Disney DVD out- Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book. I knew this would be the perfect relief for never ending snow days, so we had a fun Pirate Movie Night, complete with swords, pirate hooks, and popcorn! Yo-ho mateys away!!

The Battle for the Book mixes the worlds of Never Land and the classic story of Peter Pan and his friends from London. The sneaky snook Captain Hook steals Wendy’s Storybook, and the adventure begins as Jake and his friends search and fight to get it back. The story starts in London and moves back to Never Land, all while Wendy, John, and Michael slowly being to lose all memories of their amazing past adventures and the story of Peter Pan in Never Land. The group joins together to keep Captain Hook from destroying the Storybook in the Ring of Blue Fire in an exciting adventure mix of old and new adventures!

The over 2 hour long DVD not only includes the Battle for the Book episode, but also 4 additional episodes, mini shorts, and a Battle for the Book exclusive- a Jake and the Never Land Pirates checkerboard bandana with gold and silver coins. We put aside our swords and pirate hooks long enough to get in a few games of checkers, and then continued on with the pirate fun by downloading the Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book activity sheets to finish out our snow day/movie night. Reese loved the coloring pages and Aiden enjoyed the puzzle pages full of mazes and other games.
