I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Urbini. I received an Urbini stroller to facilitate my review as well as thank me for my participation.

As a mom of four who has tested out many different pieces of baby gear it has gotten rather hard to impress me.  I admit to being a bit of a stroller snob, hehe.  And so when a box from Urbini arrived on our doorstep I was a bit skeptical if the Emi Travel System would live up to my expectations.  Of course a new stroller can never stay in the box long around here and so I got right to work assembling it.  The total stroller assembly took roughly ten minutes and was super simple.  I thought it would be fun to record the unboxing and assembling to show how simple the process truly was… don’t worry – I sped up the video so 10 minutes of time has been condensed into about 50 seconds.  Take a look.

The Emi Travel System includes the Sonti infant car seat so my next task was to install the base.  I was pleasantly surprised by the features of the base and the simplicity of the installation process.

I was able to install the base very tightly using the LATCH system on my own thanks to the handy Extra Grip Belt Lock-Off (gray piece in the photos above) – usually I need to ask the hubby for help installing car seats.  Plus it is very easy to see if you have achieved a proper installation with the recline indicator.  Willow is 11 pounds so I needed to make sure it was within the blue section.

Besides being super easy to install the Sonti infant car seat has lots of other great features too.  It is super lightweight at only 7.2 pounds making it a breeze to carry.  The handle locks into four different positions.  The removable infant insert is perfect for little newborns to keep them comfy and their heads in place.  Speaking of tiny ones the Sonti is suited for babies weighing 4 to 35 pounds and up to 32 inches tall.  It has a nice large canopy to shield baby from the elements.  Plus side impact protection.

And now for the stroller… when I’m wrangling four kids ranging in age from 4 months to 6 years I need things to be simple.  As in one handed simple.  And the Emi Stroller does just that with the Quick-Lift system.  Simply unhook the latch and lift up on the handle to open the stroller.  And to fold it there is a black strap hidden underneath the seat which when lifted folds it in a snap.  Crazy simple!

I love that the Emi stroller can be used in a few different ways in addition to the traditional stroller mode.  At the moment we are using the stroller with the Sonti infant car seat.  It easily clicks into place without the need for extra safety straps – just make sure you actually hear the click.  Plus when both the car seat canopy and stroller canopy are opened baby is completely covered.

And when the seat is fully reclined and the foot rest snapped up the stroller quickly converts into carriage mode.  This is perfect for sleepy newborns and reminds me of a pram style stroller.

Lately I have noticed that many baby gear companies are doing away with offering parent and child trays as included accessories.  This drives me crazy!  When I am spending a decent chunk of change on a stroller I want all of those things included in the price.  I love that the Urbini Emi Travel System not only is decently priced but includes all of the features that are important to parents.  The child tray has lots of space for snacks and a drink plus is removable for easy cleaning.  The parent tray has space for two cups which is ideal when the hubby and I are strolling together…. which I plan to do lots of this summer!  Speaking of the hubby the Emi stroller also features an adjustable handle for comfortable pushing no matter your height.

The large canopy is perfect for shielding your little one from the sun or rain… or even snow, of which we have plenty.  I especially like that it simply folds and opens with no zipper to fuss with.  With so many little ones I always need lots of storage space and the Emi has just what I need plus more.  Check out that extra zippered storage compartment.  I really like this for storing items that I don’t want left out within eye sight like my wallet or keys.

Of course in order for a stroller to get any use it needs to be able to fit in our vehicle.  Even though we drive a Ford Expedition our trunk space is seriously lacking since we need to use all three rows of seating to fit our crew.  I love that the Emi folds super compactly so it fits in with room to spare.

Urbini Emi Travel System

By now I am sure you can tell that the Urbini Emi Travel System has not only met, but exceeded my expectations.  They are exclusively available at Walmart with mist in stores and viola, electric blue, and red online.  Don’t forget about free site to store shipping!  Plus with all of the amazing features and Sonti infant car seat the $249.98 price point is practically a steal.

That’s so cool! I had a separate stroller and car seat, and it was SUCH a pain.

  9. I definitely don’t blame you for being a stroller snob, or a baby ANYTHING snob! These days it’s hard to find something that’s quality built and can last beyond a year or two so when you find something that truly impresses (and actually lasts), it’s worth bragging about!

  10. Angela says:

Comfy and safe! What a great travel system. I love how simple it was to setup.

  11. Super cute system! I love the colors! Just as a sidenote: be careful with LATCH on the center- most cars are not meant to tether a center seat using the LATCH system!

    • Thank you for commenting. Though I would caution you to actually research before making a claim like this…. especially using the exclamation point at the end. I am very thorough when it comes to car seat safety and am especially cautious when I post about it on my blog. I mentioned in the post that I drive a Ford Expedition. This vehicle is a 2004 and is equipped with 3 sets of LATCH anchors across the 2nd row. Those three seats also have tether anchors for when using a forward facing seat. The far back row does not have any LATCH anchors, but the middle back seat has a tether anchor.

  12. This looks a great travel system! My daughter is having a baby so I will tell her about this stroller! I love the color, too!!
