In just over two weeks our family will be packing up the car and heading to the beach. To reach our destination there is roughly ten hours of drive time, but add in all the necessary stops with four little ones and it’s easy to tack on another four hours or so. To make things a tad easier on us we plan to stay over night in a hotel a little over halfway there, but we still need to keep the kiddos occupied and happy in the car. Mama Harper won’t do good with hearing “are we there yet” a million times, hehe. One sure fire way to keep the kids happy and quiet is by packing lots of healthy snacks and drinks. Before every road trip I head to the grocery store and stock up on food that is convenient for on-the-go snacking. Most recently I discovered Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits.
Don’t let the name fool ya – these delicious little biscuits are the perfect snack any time of day or night. Speaking of night… I think it’s the perfect time to drive because the kids sleep almost the entire time. At least mine do which means I get peace, quiet, the radio on whatever station I want, and snacks just for me. But back to those Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits. They are available in three yummy flavors including Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Honey Roasted.
Each box contains five packages with four biscuits making them the perfect size snack. Plus they are made with 100% whole grain for long-lasting energy which is essential on those long road trips. I personally love that they contain no artificial flavors or food dyes. The Strawberry Breakfast Biscuits are made with REAL strawberries. That makes my little Alleigh Jade super happy since she is extra sensitive to red food dyes.
I knew we’d need all three varieties in our house because my oldest daughter loves strawberries, but my five year old isn’t a fan. She does, however, love chocolate. And I knew Willow would like the Honey Roasted flavor.
All three of my big girls are gobbling up these Breakfast Biscuits left and right. I’ve been tossing them into the diaper bag when we head to the park, for days at the pool, and to keep them happy in the car while running errands. I’m definitely going to be picking up some more before we leave for vacation.
