Walmart is my Snackation Destination

We’ve had some super dry and hot days in Ohio lately so I thought the perfect way to say farewell to summer would be to enjoy just one more day at the pool.  Taking four little ones to a public swimming pool is no easy task and I have learned it is best to come prepared.  It’s even better to be over prepared when it comes to snacks.  Other wise every time the kiddos have to get out of the pool for the ten minute break each hour they will be asking for money to get something at the snack shack.  And so to prepare for our last day at the pool Lilah and I headed to Walmart to stock up on snacks.

Time for a Mama Harper confession… I can’t stand grocery shopping.  To be more specific I hate crowds while grocery shopping.  That is why I love that Walmart is open late and some are even open 24 hours.  Once the big kids are tucked in for the night Lilah and I head to the store while the hubby stays home.  She sleeps in the Tula and I can get everything I need without maneuvering through aisles full of people.

Walmart Check Out Lane

For this end of summer adventure I was looking for snacks that would not only be yummy and healthy for my kiddos, but also easy to prepare, easy to eat, and easy to clean up.  It might sound like I was asking for a lot, but I knew Walmart would have everything I needed.  I grabbed some of the new Jif Whips in a couple different flavors as well as some yummy strawberries and pretzels to dip in them.  Jif To Go was a must as well since my girls love dipping apple slices in peanut butter.

As Lilah and I wandered up and down the aisles I noticed the new Smucker’s Fruit Fulls.  My five year old, Kaelyn, loves cinnamon applesauce so I knew she would be a fan.  And with Lilah starting to try more new foods I thought this would also be a yummy snack for her at the pool too.  In the cart it went!

Before heading up to the check out lane I made sure to grab some Smucker’s Uncrustables in the freezer section. Sure, I could make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but remember all my requirements – easy to prepare, easy to eat, easy to clean up – the Uncrustables meet all of those.  Plus my kids love them.  It’s a win-win situation.

Once home I had to make sure to hide my stash of pool snacks other wise those kiddos of mine would devour them before we even started our end of summer celebration, hehe.  I can definitely say that Walmart is my Snackation Destination.  I love that I can get everything I need in one place at a time that is convenient for me.

Have you given the new Jif Whips a try yet?  Keep an eye out because I’ll let ya know what we thought soon.
