On the Go with Games to Go!

Life has changed pretty drastically since my oldest started school.  While I thought life was busy before, I didn’t realize just how busy it gets when you have bus stops to get to and sports practices all throughout the week.  Its definitely been go, go, go!  I’ve also learned that with all of that rushing and running around, my kids are needing more activities that we can pick up and take with us wherever our schedules lead us. One of my favorite game companies, Peaceable Kingdom, has come up with a great solution for crazy schedules just like ours- Games to Go!

Games to Go comes in three different versions, Preschool Games to Go (ages 3-6), Enchanted Games to Go (ages 6-9), and Spy Games to Go (ages 7 & up).  Peaceable Kingdom sent us Enchanted Games to Go and Spy Games to Go to try out as we go about our busy day.  Since both of the books were for kids just a bit older than our boys, we let Aiden (5 years old) try them out to see what he thought about them.

Each book is a sturdy write and erase board book with an attached dry erase marker and built in handle, so Aiden didn’t really need any direction to get started. Each book was filled with a variety of games for a range of age and skills, including mazes, word puzzles, fill in the blanks, drawing areas, and decoding games. Some were a bit above his age level, but will definitely be great to keep on hand as he continues to learn and grow.

Once he started to get the idea of how the games and puzzles worked, he was super excited to take them on the road with us.  They were perfect to fit in the bag and pull out in the car, or even leave them in the seatback pocket so he could grab them any time while we were traveling.  The dry erase marker has a built in eraser on the end, so everything he needs is all there.  Plus, with 17 full-color pages of fun, he has a lot to keep him entertained.

Even though they are a bit advanced for the younger two boys, they are also enjoying drawing and coloring on them at doctor’s visits and while waiting for big brother at the bus stop, so Peaceable Kingdom has been a big win for the whole family again.  Be sure to check out their website for a complete line of family friendly games and activities!
