Sunny’s Must Have Holiday Gifts for Kids

We’ve been so busy finishing the sale of our home and buying a new one that Christmas and the holiday season have totally snuck up on me! I tend to be a very early shopper, searching out the best deals throughout the spring and summer. By now, I usually have a majority of my shopping completed- especially for my boys (ages 2, 4, and 5).  Well, this year, I have about three things bought for them.  Since I thought a few of you may be in the same boat as me with the bustle of the school year taking over, I simplified Christmas shopping for you  and gathered a list of some of my favorite must-have gifts for kids!

MustHaves

For some reason, I really have a hard time shopping for my 2 year old.  It seems like he gets all of his brothers’ toys when they’re done with them, so finding something new for him is definitely a challenge.  I’ve been on the hunt for some kind of sleep training aide or sleep timer clock, but I haven’t had much luck with something age appropriate.  Cloud b Stay Asleep Buddies is the best match yet, with a great tool and a cuddly plush toy all in one.  This cute little Hedgehog starts out with a soft glow light and lullabye, and can be programed to play a morning tune and slow a green wake up light when it’s ok to wake up.

By simply looking at his Stay Asleep Buddy, Ezra can tell whether it’s ok to get up or not.  Plus, if the buddy feels motion during the night, the yellow sleep light pops back on and a sweet little melody plays to help soothe him back to sleep.  I can see this coming in incredibly handy this holiday season with all of the hustle and bustle wrecking our sleep patterns.  And well rested kids mean a happy holiday!  This useful, sweet gift retails for $29.95 and is for ages 1+.

The 4 and 5 year old are a bit easier for me to buy for, but they’ve been obsessed with bow and arrows lately.  The problem is that we’ve tried a bunch, and they’re either low quality, hard to shoot for little hands, or the arrows just don’t stick to anything!  Well, the second item on my list is everything those aren’t- the Firetek Zeon Bow from Zing.  Not only is a easy for the boys to use, it glows in the dark and the arrows light up, so it is loads of fun both in the daytime and the night!  It retails for $14.99 and is for ages 5+.

For the bigger kids (and maybe mom and dad), we were able to try out a very cool holiday must-have with the IDo3D 3D Art Studio from Redwood Ventures.

Guidebook

Designed for ages 8+, IDo3D is a creative toy that uses technology to bring art to life.  My husband and I both had a blast using the specially crafted pens to create literal 3D works of art.  The 3D printing ink comes out liquid, but with a flash of light from the special spotlight, the liquid becomes solid.  Multiple pieces can be built, attached, and whipped up into a 3D design from the included guidebook or whatever your imagination can come up with.  We had lots of fun creating a palm tree that our boys were super jealous of the next morning!

This fun, versatile gift would be perfect for a creative 8 year old or an older teen up for a challenge.  At $24.99, it has the perfect price point for any gift, too.

Hopefully my list of Holiday Must-Haves has given you some great options for gifts for any ages!  Let me know if there’s anything else you would add below!
