Have you checked the grandparents off your Christmas shopping list yet? If you haven’t there’s nothing to worry about because I know exactly what they want and there’s still time to get it in time for the holidays. All they want is to see the precious mugs of their grandchildren – perhaps their mug on a mug, but more on that later. And so if you want to capture your little one’s smiling face or even the whole family in time for Christmas gifts there is only one place to go. Portrait Innovations.
A few weeks ago our family was invited to visit the Arlington Ridge Marketplace Portrait Innovations location where we had a wonderful experience. Upon walking into the studio I was immediately greeted by enthusiastic staff who I could tell truly enjoyed their job. We were a few minutes early for our appointment so we took a seat in the waiting area which was by far the most impressive waiting area I have ever seen. The big couches were so comfy and the large photo galleries on the wall gave the entire studio a very relaxed and home like vibe. After I put the finishing touches on the girls hair it was our turn.
When the photographer asked if I had any special requests I was afraid I would overwhelm her when I rattled off about a million ideas. I wanted photos of us as a family both on a neutral and Christmas background as well as photos of the girls by themselves and in a group on both backgrounds too. And since I had slacked on Lilah’s pictures I also wanted some one year old photos of her and I needed one of her in a bath tub too. In addition to my lengthy list of portrait requests I also wanted to do a wardrobe change which was no problem at all because the studio even had a dressing room! The photographer assured me she would be able to accomplish all of this, but I admit I still had my doubts.
Sometimes getting one child to smile when you want them to is hard enough, but four girls ranging in age from 13 months to 7 years old is a whole other ball game. For every cute photo you see me share of my girls there are probably 50 to 100 bloopers on my camera too. But at Portrait Innovations they work together as a team to capture the perfect shot. As you can see the photographer was focused on capturing the photo while her assistant posed our family and pulled out all her tricks to get even my most difficult child to smile.
After the photographer captured all of my requests it was time to view all of the photos. Through out the waiting area there were lego tables which kept the kiddos occupied while I tried to narrow down my choices. There were so many gorgeous photos that I was having a heck of a time even eliminating one, but I intended to stick to a budget so it was necessary. The photographer helped me out by showing me photos that were similar and narrowing it down from there. That way when I had made my final choices I would have a nice variety of poses.
Here are just a few of the photos I ended up choosing…
The best part about Portrait Innovations is that you get your portraits and cards the same day! This is great for those of us who have procrastinated and waited til the last minute to get holiday photos taken. It’s also great because it’s one less trip of dragging all the kids out just to pick up pictures.
I am very pleased with our pictures and definitely recommend Portrait Innovations. From the friendly and helpful staff to the high quality prints everything was absolutely wonderful about our experience. If you want to give Portrait Innovations this package absolutely can’t be beat. Plus that mug would make a perfect gift for grandma!
